Smack,

Not sure I can add a second Eagle when I have three bolt throwers because you only get four rare spots for an official and leagal list or am I mistaken?

Aren't Great Eagles still 2 for each rare choice slot?

In 7th edition, RBT's and eagles are only 1 per rare slot, so you can only take 3 RBT's plus one eagle, no more. Only possibility to add another eagle could be when you place it as a character's mount.

As for lion chariots, they are definitely better than tiranoc, but cost almost twice as much! For only 30 more pts you can have 2 tiranocs, which are generaly stronger than one lion. but it depends on army composition and the role you have for your chariots.

Ahhh, fair enough. Should have gone and looked before making that comment. Still thought Eagles were 2 for each slot.

I'd rather take one Lion Chariot to be honest, but thats a personal preference. Dislike of Tiranoc Chariots.

You can place hero in tiranoc chariot (not in lion, except of Korhil ...), giving it extra hitting power (hero may be given lance). Hero also increases unit strength of chariot to 5, so it is able to cancel rank bonuses and gain +1/+2 for flank/rear charge.

I have both, a Tiranoc Chariot and Lion Chariot but I have yet to use either. Once I can get a game in I'll give a full report on the battle. I might have that opportunity this weekend. Stay tuned!

Still haven't gotten a chance to run the army list but hopefully I will sometime this week or this weekend! Stay tuned!!!

I actually just finished putting all my models together and I primed them yesterday!!! Now to prepare the bases and then to paint them all :( This will be my first paint job, we'll see how it goes.

I like a character called Sigvalor the Magnificent(a Sigvald model, he's an elf in the closet  )
He goes Tiranoc, Star Lance, Talisman of Loec, dragon armor, shield. Crewman takes potshots  Try it. He runs around killing dwarf lords, 2+ armor save vampires and chaos sorcerors

right i'll evaluate your list.

you have a very fragile force. dont lisen to cut 3 from each sg unit and put them 7 across. put them in five wide and get 10 shots with 11 asf attacks. dont cut dragon princes. 3 rpbt is good and makes holes in stuff. lion chariots are good so its up to you. mage. lv 2 is fine as you can cast harder spells and use all your power dice

I honestly thing Star Lance is a waste of points Galeac. Not worth the points in my opinion.

Appreciate all your comments, plan to test the list this week/weekend to see how things workout... I will try and take pictures if I can and give a full report but be warned that none of my models will be painted, they'll all be black (primed)! :)

LOL Well... I really would like to get one of my armies painted. The problem is I don't want to do a crappy job on the models because I paid so much money for them! Not to mention I just want my army to look good on the battle field.

Location: Portland, Or
I think it is a High Elf player thing to paint at...lets say a moderate, unhurried pace...

...in the time my friend Space Monkey has partially painted his Elf Noble on Dragon, 2 repeater bolt throwers, one chariot, and a couple random figures...partially painted, mind you...I have completed 5 Marauder Horsemen, 36 Marauders, 15 Chaos Knights, Galrauch, Chaos Lord on Juggernaut, 24 Chaos Warriors, a Dragon Ogre Shaggoth, 5 Forsaken, a Mounted Sorcerer, 10 Chaos Warhounds, a few Wood Elf figures, about a hundred Dwarf figures, and played 15 games (not including a 5 game Warband day).

I freely admit I am not the best painter but for table top, at my first tournament, all three opponents commented on how cool my Knights looked.

But I only paint to my version of tabletop standard. I think High Elf guys paint to "show standard" for their rank and file guys, even. That way, they look good dying :-) This is because while theyu are busy primping and pimping, we are out spreading carnage, mayhem and destruction in the name of friendship and a good game.

Including Warband games, 21-4-2 total
