Will GW seize the opoprtunity and give the Beasts the rewrite they deserve ?

I think now that Warriors, Daemons and Beasts have all be given their separate roles it's time to further differentiate the beasts and make them a more unique less chaos oriented army.

The Daemons, Warriors, Beastmen mix was always a bit of an unhappy marriage in my opinion. They were cobbled together somewhat in previous incarnations purely because they were aligned to Chaos. Although it was a nice excuse to let imaginations run wild.

I think GW can do better than Chaos worshipping Beasts. We already have Chaos worshipping mortals and Daemons from the very realms of chaos.

I would much prefer it if the Beastmen were simply animal mutations resulting from the proximity of a Chaos influence (a warp gate I presume or maybe the Chaos Wastes). Maybe slightly aligned towards Chaos but more influenced to their feral roots. How about some mutated bears for instance ?

This would enable the Beasts army to break free from the shackles of Chaos Worship and allow GW design staff to broaden their thinking.

I suspect they are in the final stages of designing the new army now, I just hope it's not a rework of the old one with some new magic items and a power boost.

yeah i agree. Theres alot of opportunity for beasts to break away and become a seperate army, and itd free up the imagination in itself. The bears are a really good idea. They could keep the traditional beastmen, or similar, but include bears and definitely redo the minataurs, even have different types. New centaurs would be awesome too. Keep the evil rebel look but perhaps more traditional centaur. More beast magic too. Beast druids would be cool.

some nice ideas there Waldo. I like the idea of having different types of Minotaurs / Centaurs.

I think a whole new Beast Lore magic would be nice aswell. Nurgle, Tzeentch and Slaanesh should be for Daemons and Warriors of Chaos.

I think it would be an interesting, as yet unexplored, area to open up for a new army.
