Ice magic seems pretty reasonable, basically a nasty version of water based spells.

Have you considered adding Water spouts to the mix? Something like you create D3 waterspouts that act like Goblin Fanatics

Nice idea about the water spouts Kiwi.

I'm putting together the pdf now so any more changes will have to go in the next draft. I have added the idea to my Nautican notes. Thanks very much.

Hmm, whadya mean by "Act like Goblin Fanatics"? I don't think water spouts move. I would think a "Comet of Cassandora" type spell would work but with slighty modified rules. Or you could take both, I mean if you think about it, since the Nauticans can control water, a Spout idea could work.

You have recieved 2 cents, Sigmar.

Sigmar, ive noticed that most armies have only 2 bound spells. I think your nauticans had like 6. I think you need to eliminate 4 bound spells or set a rule where you can only take 2 per game. Thats a lot if you had 8 power dice and 6 bound spells.

Good point, thanks Sever. Some armies do have more than 2 bound items though, I know Vampires have 4.

I am re-designing the magic items because they're just not quite right. Most of the items are weaker than equivalents in other armies so I need to do a little bit more work on them.

I will reduce the number of bound items though because 6 probably is a bit too excessive.

the spell that makes an elemental is too weak for its cast value because it cant go anywhere as the caster cant move

Hi orcy, it's just supposed to be a defensive spell to protect the caster. What casting value would you give it ?

Hi orcy, I think 5-7 might be too low, I was thinking a minimum of 8 but I'll give it some more thought. I'll need to dig out some other army books and the rulebook magic lores to look for comparable spells (although I cannot think of any off the top of my head).

Does anyone else have an opinion about the points cost for the summon water elemental spell in the below list ?

ive just got out the spell list in a new tab.

the siren dont get any movement spells that work on it so wizard hunters would just go around it as it does not say it can be created in combat. i think you should retire the spell and do what someone surgested above

Hi orcy,

Do you mean galeac's comment...

"The Stagnant Swamp- 12+
The Nautican spell caster raises up the water that exists underground, and raises it up to ground level. Foes sink in the swamp as they struggle to escape, their protection dragging them down into the ground
The Nautican creates a swamp where foes can sink. The swamp takes advantage of good armor. If the target has no armor save, they sink on a 6+, then 4+. If the target has a 6+ armor save, they sink on a 6+ and so on. This spell only affects the front rank of a unit."

Or Kiwi's suggestion about some ice magic ?

Powner suggested that Mistress of the March was similar to the above and the Nauticans do have access to the Lore of Life.
