A "sticky" place to discuss suitable miniatures, where to get them from and conversions from existing miniatures into Nauticans.

I have a plan for the sandgangers. I am going totry to convert some crypt ghouls by "caking" them with fine sand. I'm thinking of just doing the front rank and of making the rear ranks out of emerging sandganagers that are rising from the sand and in the process of forming. I might use clay modelled in a bipod-ish shape and coated with sand.

As soon as I have got something to show you I'll post some pics.

I'm adding images of all the suggested minis and links to ongoing eBay sales because people keep asking me where to get them from.

The images/links are on the naut1.blogspot.com home page beneath the army book cover art.

Axinous just found us some more sea based miniatures and an excellent King of the Seas miniature that stands at 10cm tall !

I've posted it on the design notes blog for now and will add it to the miniatures on the main naut1.blogspot.com site sometime this week.

Here he... The King of the Seas, in all his glory:-

Judging by the looks of this army, seems you;re after sea people...

I haven't seen the list, but this person may be useful:

He also has a blog here (With a very nice war turtle)

They look just perfect for a Nautican army - as if designed for it. Spooky!

Yep, I got in touch with the sculptor sometime ago. There's a possibility of getting some tailor made miniatures for the army. I haven't been back to them for quite some time now and I also have another sculptor contact I need to speak to again.

This Nautican Army looks really good. It's very intresting because it's diffirent from other Warhammer armys with some exception.

Thanks Goth, I'm pleased you like the look of it so far.

Here's a miniature I have my eye on as a possible special character. It's 18.5cm tall and equipped with an Anchor - perfect for the Guardian of Time !

I've posted it on my blog:-

A Giant amongst Giants - with an Anchor and Chains !
(loads of reciprocal links from the Battle Reporter blog to this site so this link allowed)

Sadly, they will not give me permission to post on the Nautican Site but I do have permission to post as a "News item" on my blog ?! :(

Anyway, I'll add a link on the Nautican site so people know where to go to buy it but I cannot show the pic so the standard suggested miniature pic will probably be the old citadel/warhammer metal giant from way back. It's pretty good but not as good as the Black Scorpion mini which is almost ideal with the Anchor and Chains.

I'll be using this thread only from now on to discuss Nautican Miniatures, painting, suppliers, conversions etc...

I found a duplicated thread so I have locked it and redirected readers here.

Yeah, I love the bucket and spade :D

Have you noticed what he's holding inhis left hand ? I didn't actually know when I got it out of the box, I only realised after Dims painted it !

You know STEAM, I was pretty impressed by Dims actually spotting what the Octopus was. I know it sounds a bit wierd but when I got the miniature before I posted it to Dims, I couldn't actually work out what was in his hand !!?!
