I'll post stats here every now and then showing how the advertising is going on google.

I'm advertising 4 sites, the foru, the battle reporter blog, the battle reports hub and the Nautican Army list.

They are shown when people type Warhamer Fantasy Battle related searches into googles and they are placed on sites such as BelloflostSouls, BugmansBrewery, Heresy-Online, Librarium-Online, Warseer and many more.

hopefully, these extra 88 clicks a week will result in new members, I've noticed a few more joining recently so it could be working.

That means our forum has been visited at least 297 times more than normal over the past 13 days (that's an extra 23 visits per day).

I've noticed quite a bit more activity and new members in the forum so I think it's working so far.

So far we've spent £9, and have £76 left.

I recently added loads of new keywords so we're spending about £1.40 per day at the moment. That should be about another 2 months of advertising, so hopefully 60+ more members by the end of August (we're currently averaging about 1 new member per day).

I have carried out a few calculations to try to work out the best way of advertising the forum and Gogle Ads win hands down.

The click trhough rate is extremely low, about 1/15th of the click through rate claimed by other Wargaming sites but because you only pay per click it works out a LOT cheaper.

If you spend $10 on some other sites (I won't name it in case they get upset !) and get a click through rate of 1% and an average of about 4000 impressions per month (which I was told is about average) then that's $0.25 per click !, the google adwords average is currently just under $0.05 per click.

I'll be sticking with google for now !

We can still use banners etc and the audience is much broader. I'm working on a video right now and Son of Khaine has sent me one to use too. I'll get them both on YouTube.

I folks, I installed some visitor tracking code on the forum a few weeks ago to see how popular the forum becomes over time.

So, here's the good news...

Over the past couple of weeks, since I became more active advertising the forum:-

We average 20% more visits per day
People are visiting 40% more pages than they used to
More visitors are sticking around to look at more than 1 page
22% of our visitors each day are people who have never been to the forum before.

It's a slow but steady improvement on all fronts .

Let's get some more quality posts on those Army Race forums to drive some more Google Search traffic to the site. I'll be working on my Ogres forum this weekend.
