Folks, let's start recording how each of the armies performs based on our wins, draws and losses. I thought we could do this over the course of a whole year and see how the armies all get on.

each time you have a battle add 1 to the battle count for each army involved then, add 1 point for a draw (for both armies), or 3 pts for a win for the army which is victorious.

(battle count) / points / Army
() 0 Beasts of Chaos
() 0 Bretonnia
() 0 Chaos Daemons
() 0 Chaos Dwarfs
() 0 Dark Elves
() 0 Dogs of War
() 0 Dwarfs
() 0 High Elves
() 0 Lizardmen
() 0 Ogre Kingdoms
() 0 Orcs and Goblins
() 0 Skaven
() 0 The Empire
() 0 Tomb Kings
() 0 Vampire Counts
() 0 Warriors of Chaos
() 0 Wood Elves

You're only allowed to record 1 battle per week.

Every few weeks I'l analyse the posts to see how each army is performing and which are the best and worst.

Tizz, you put down Warriors of Chaos rather than Wood Elves, so I changed it. Thx for spotting the previous mistake.

Everyone, don't forget to include both armies in the battle count, even the one that lost.

Yes that's right. We also need the battle count to the left of the army name, you put in a (0), it needed to be (1) because it's the first recorded battle for High Elves. The points is the number which finishes with pts.

I just need to keep a record of how many battles each army gets involved in, even if they lose. That way we can compare them on a fair percentage basis, eg High Elves won 55% of their battles, Dwarfs won 60%.

No worries anyway, I'l keep an eye on the entries.

Thanks for filling it in. Hopefully, it will become an interesting read in a few weeks once we have a whole bunch of battles recorded on there.

I'd like to suggest allowing tournament players to enter all the results from their tournaments... this will end up with more results, and more results that aren't "skewed" by fun lists that aren't necessarily designed to win i.e. the all peasant Bret army.

Also, I suggest you keep the battle count, and battle results seperate, so you can divide their points by their count, and get an effectiveness rating as well... that way Army Y that is very popular but loses a lot, doesn't come out looking better than Army Z that few people here play, but those that do play effectively. For example, pulling an army choice out of thin air say there's 3 Lizardman players who win constantly compared to 30 VC players who go 50/50.

Brett,

The battle count is a separate number now (it's the one in brackets). I might have misunderstood your post though ?!

I prefer 1 post per game really and a limit on how many each person can post. It needs to be a weighted reflection on the community. An average performance for armies used in tournaments and friendlies.

For the tournament analysis I was planning to take GW's data from the 2008 games day.

I'd like to make this about fun as much as it is about the best army. We need a mix of friendly battles and tournament battles to get a fair overall result. For instance, I will probably never play in a tournament but I'd still like to see which armies come out best in friendly games.

How about a limit of 2 per week, in 2 separate posts ?

I just thought people would probably get disinterested if they thought someone was hogging the show and posting 20 results in for each one they put in (I, for instance only play 1 game every 5 weeks or so).

What does everyone else think ? If you want all the tournament games added to then we can do that, it just wasn't my original intention. I'll go with the majority.

I'm also one who only gets a game in every few weeks or so but I also get into at least 3 tournaments a year. I think you will get a back log of input if you include tournaments as most of these are 3 or 4 game bouts, sometimes more if held on more than one day. There would be a lot of posts to monitor as well if you include tournaments, but again it'syour call Sigmar.
:D

Ok, I'm swayed by Brett and Luckless' opinions.

Please feel free to post tournament battles.

Please make sure you let us know which battles you played, eg:-

High Elves vs Dwarfs - Dwarf Win
Wood Elves vs Beasts of Chaos - Draw
Vampires vs Tomb Kings - Draw

then I can keep checking the numbers to make sure they add up to the battles being played.

Just post once for all the battles you lpayed ni a tournament and I will make sure the numbers tally.

Thanks everyone. Feel free to post the results of your most recent tournament straight away.
