Hi all,

Just some quick confirmation questions.

1. If I stick my BSB in a wood more then 2 inches deep so he cannot be seen but he is within 12inch of units outside the wood- does he still grant the reroll for break checks? The rule book seems to say that that he only has to be not fleeing and not in the back of a unit.

2. Can a character mounted (on a horse) join a skirmisher unit?

3. Fast cav can't get a rank bonus but do they negate opponents rank bonus if hitting the flank/rear?

1. YES - 12" regardless of whether LOS can be drawn

2. NO - Characters cannot join skirmishers unless they have a specific special rule stating that they can

3. YES - If they are unit strength 5 or greater

For the second question it's no like Kiwi said, but you can put him "really close" next to the unit and basicly have it as if he were in the unit.

But he would still cout as a separate unit, and able to be targeted! So unless you place him BEHIND that unit as shield like Kiwi said, the act is completey useless if done for protection purposes!

Only unmounted characters can join skirmisher units.
Putting a mounted model near another unit won't prevent him being targeted by missile/magic attacks.

I wasn't trying to protect him from missile attacks in my case. I would just make it so he can be in the same combat as the skirmishers, but with him still not being in the unit.

I know the questions have already been answered (and quite satisfactorily at that), but the page reference is Warhammer Fantasy Rulebook page 67, Characters section. In addition, the "roughly man-sized characters" part has been errata'd in FAQ #1 to be "Unit strength 1 characters".

thankz Thanks for the answers peoples- very helpful. I will have to consider what is best with my mounted or unmounted character. Good luck with your war-hammering :)
