City of Roulette's TEN COMMANDMENTS1. Please create a character before posting here. If you need help creating a character please PM Son Of Khaine or myself, either one of us will be happy to help.
Character Creation Rules can be found here:
http://battlereporter.freeforums.org/ch ... -t858.html
You can post your completed character here:
http://battlereporter.freeforums.org/ch ... -t870.html
2. When Posting in character, please use the following format:
Character Name
Current Location
Example:
Logan ThunderAxe
Ox's Face Tavern
3. When Posting out of character, please use the following format:
(I am now talking out of character)
4. Remember, the storyteller ALWAYS has final word as to what happens, In other words, if you want to do something post what you want to do, then let the storyteller determine the outcome. Also, if the storyteller puts you in a location, let him describe it. For Example: Logan wants to take the head off of a troll with his axe. So my post would look something like this: "Logan jumps through the air, swinging his axe with all his strength. The blade arcs through the air towards the the trolls neck." At this point the storyteller would decide if the character hit his target and how much damage he has done.
5. Feel free to create new locations in and near the City, take the time to describe them in detail. If your character wishes to leave Roulette or its surrounding areas, please post their activity in the appropriate RPG thread.
6. Feel free to start your own little mini quests, but please take the time to PM the storyteller with enough detail about the story that he can create Villans and situations appropriate to that story.
7. Two Character Limit, please limit yourself to two active characters in this thread at any time. That dosnt mean you can post two characters as a time, it means you can only have two characters who are in or around this town at any time.
8. I reserve the right to add any location created by a player to the Locations of note section, making them a long term part of the game.
9. If a new player joins the game, please cut them some slack and help them feel welcome.
10. The Golden Rule: Have Fun!
Roulette is a massive city, it takes most of a day to cross from one side to the other. Its safe to say it will take a character half an hour to cross from one grid space to another. Grid Locations are posted with the location descriptions below.
Locations of note:East Gate: (E9)
Roulette's main gate.
Northeast Guard Headquarters (C8 )
The largest of Roulette's four Guard Headquarters, the guards from this guardhouse are responsible for the main gate and marketplace of roulette. Agustus Florin commands this Guardhouse. Agustus is a grim and serious old veteran who's only real joy is holding a grudge.
Roulette Marketplace: (E6, E7)
-The Roulette marketplace is a busteling marketplace with rare and exotic items from around the world. People are packed shoulder to shoulder in the wide street as everyone wanders from stall to stall seeking what they came for. The sound of merchants selling everything from fresh baked bread, to magical neclaces can be heard for blocks around. The stores along the marketplace are large brick buildings with large signs above their doors to draw in prospective buyers.
Spellbreaker's Rune: (E7)
-Spellbreaker's Rune is an old Runeship, owned by an even older Dwarf. The shop is a dusty, yet well organized establishment. Thelonius Spellbreaker is an old and fragile old dwarf and nearly completely blind. Many think that his mind is starting to go with how he rambles on at times. He fondly remembers hammering away durring battle, the sound of steel striking the Anvil of Doom before him, . . . . . .
The Archangel: (C1)
-The Archangel is a large ship resting in one of the few deep bearths along the waterfront. The ship is well cared for and the crew is the very picture of efficiency. Cantain Gregory Rivers is a serious, slightly arrogant man who is all business, all the time.
The Drunken Dwarf: (B4)
-The Drunken Dwarf is a tavern with a bad reputation. Known for its frequent fights and its underhanded dealings. Its interior is a dark, dank, smoke filled den of corruption. Rumors persist that some people enter the bar and are never seen again, but nothing has ever been proven in spite of several missing persons investigations. The owner is Dagon Raan, a young man with long black hair, and aways dressed in black leather. Many think he is human, but no one is completely sure. He is known for his friendly nature and his quick smile by most, but those who have taken the time to get to know him act as if they are scared in his presence. The taverns security comes in for form of a hulking ogre by the name or Oor. Oor dosnt talk much and only answers to Dagon. The beautiful twin elves, Amelia and Anelia wander from table to table serving drinks throughout the night, playfully flirting every step of the way.
The Pit: (?)
Where the cities most violent fights take place. "The Rat" is an alarmingly clean Skaven who sets the odds for the fights and takes bets.
The Razor's Edge: (G6)
-The Razors edge is a well known weapon and armor shop in Roulette. When stepping through the door, people see a wide assortment of of both functional and beautiful armor and weapons. The elderly Dwarf Ewen AnvilFist owns and runs the shop. Forgeing many of the items sold in the store with the help of his two sons Ebber and Addle. Where as Ewen is a grumpy snippy old man, his two sons are friendly.
The Reaver's Nest: (H8 )
-The Reavers Nest is a mercenary guild. Owned and run by the proud and well past his prime Edmond Starren, the Reavers Nest is a well kept establishment where individuals can seek out work, or simply set around for a game of cards or dice. For that matter, if you have a few coins, you are welcome to post jobs for others. A large board along the back wall almost always has job posting for mercanaries and bounty hunters. If you stay around for a while, Edmond is always happy to entertain people with tales of his glory days when he still fought for the Empire. Whether you are looking for a full time job, or just something little to pad your pocket, this is the place to go.
The Wizard's Orb: (E5)
-The Wizard's Orb is an odd place. Everything from shrunken heads to fine jewelry hang from hooks. The floor is covered in ornate rugs and thw walls are covered with exotic and magical banners. almost every free space in the Wizard's Orb is filled with strange and magical items, its difficult to move in the small front room without knocking something over, and when looking behind the counter, patrons can see that the back of the establishment is even worse. No one can think of a time when they have entered the store without seeing Aaron Starfire setting regally on a large ornate pillow behind the counter. His long beard is grey and his eyes are solid white. He seems to enjoy telling stores about the items in his store and seems almost reluctant to part with some, . . .
Waterfront (A1, B1, C1)
Dozens of large ships can always be seen in the bay or docked near shore. The Waterfront is a hive of activity around the clock.
Waterfront/NorthWest Guard Headquarters & Prison (C1)
-A large well kept barracs is built near the docks, a putrid and dark dungeon rests beneath it. The local commander, and elf by the name of Corran Varn beleaves in keeping things efficiant, often having guards transfered that he feels arent up to his standards. Many of the Guards who serve under him feel that it is an honor.
Noteworthy NPC's:
-Ariel Treesinger: A wood elf who has failed in her duty. She is often driven, but when things dont go well, she sometimes surrenders to dispare.
-Crystal Vanderhof: A young girl of noble blood. Often scared, she tries to do whats right.
-Gregory Rivers: Captain of the Arhcnagel. He is always firm and expects compitence from those around him.
