There are so many demonic/daemonic characters. which one is your favourite?
I will put up a poll once i get a "short list".

It can be your favourite character in battle (and id love to hear your stories of how the demons have performed in games) or a model that you love.

I've just got myself the Daemon boko so I'll be a regualr visito to the Daemons forum.

At the moment, I think I would opt for a Nurgle based army and, as such, I like the Nurgle Lord. With a toughness of 6 and 10 wounds he's not going to be easy to shift and if there's one thing that really upsets me it's losing my Lord level character at the beginning of the game or having to keep them safely embedded in a unit behind your front lines for the duration of a battle.

The Nurgle Lord can be put right in the firing line and can safely suck up those arrows, bolts, gunshot, stones into it's putrid blubbering belly without fear of being killed.

Although I bought the daemon spearhead box I don' think i will get into it to much as I originally bought it to mix daemons in with my Chaos army. I have some painted daemoettes and deamonettes on steeds but since that is no longer possible I'm not sure about an all daemon army. however I love the blood thirster and i would defenitely make him the focal point of the army. I also like lord of change but I'm not a big fan of tzeench I just think the fig is great looking. I'm not a big Nurgle fan as I just don't care much for the minitures as well as the keeper of secrets. I like the slannesh core units just not the lord. Ah I'm rambling again. Sorry. My overall choice would be the bloodthirster. Cheers

A Khorne Herald riding a Juggernaut with the Armour of Khorne and a Firestorm Blade. 0+ Armour save, 14in charge range, 4 S7 flaming killing blow attacks with 2 S5 killing blow attacks with Hatred on top of that.

Put him in a unit of Bloodletters so he gets his Look Out Sir and he will rip though your entire army.

Sounds pretty impressive.

Unforntunately, I find that the easiest way to do well in Warhammer is still to have a very meaty unit to wade through the enemy. Still, I guess that's why we have slayers, flagellants, undead and other unbreakables. These super tough units can be beaten but everything has to go just right for the army trying to beat them.

for modeling i love the blue scribes and for 81 pts they are really cheap.

i heard someone say do khorne have the best characters. they are pretty good . i think backed up with tzeentch thouh can make them unstoppable.how about a flaming sword. 4 strength 10 ws7 2+to hit with re-roll.would be the result from one spell.how about lore of heavens and have d3 or d6
(cant remember which) re-rolls in combat.in combat with a kick ass magic item.law of gold will fix it,.

just some ideas.

Hi there tzeentch, you're our first forum greater daemon. I dont think anyone will be messing with a Lord of change :)

Welcome onboard.

He speaks truth, but either way, I'm not messing around with a Lord of Change

I agree that they can be nasty including the characters but for me it's always been down to having some good quality troops on the board. Some of those deamon choices can just destroy armies.

To be honest character-wise from the Daemons of Chaos Armybook I loved Skarbrand. While the Daemon itself may not represent much I am always one looking in the lore and personality of a character. While for a time I considered Bloodthirsters mindless embodiements of rage it seems it is not so. Having played with Dark Elves until now and as I just started my own Daemons of Chaos army I've started dabbling in preparing a story for my host.

As you may suspect it's leader is a Bloodthirster as it is a mostly Khorne army with some Slaanesh and Tzeentch support.

My second favourite of all is the Lord of Change. I like the idea of a birdy looking demon who happens to know more than a mortal can even dream of.

I am kinda annoyed that they didn't put in a Slaanesh GD as a special character, all the other powers are represented. I do like the Masque (model could be better IMHO). But I've always been a Slaaneshi at heart.
