As some of you may know by now Games Workshop is doing another round of price increases on metals, plastics, and hobby materials come June. Supposedly there will be a 3%-5% price increase just about across the board. Battalions/Battleforce box set will now be $95 for example. However anyone looking to buy the pretty new Empire models on their way are in for a shock. $41.25 for 10 PLASTIC greatswords (remember the 10-man metal boxes that were only $40?) and the $57.75 PLASTIC Steamtank (only $2.25 less than the metal one!). Don't forge the new Marius Leitdorf mounted metal model for $29.75 (doesnt even get a scenic base or any fancy decorations like similar priced mounted characters).

Needless to say I'm appalled at these prices and if they turn out to be true and become the new norm...then I'm done. My friendly local GW won't be receiving any more buisness from me so helloooooooo warstore/maelstrom/ebay, I'll be focusing my efforts there.

I didn't think the price raise was going to be that bad but I figure that chaos dwarfs aren't coming back so.

Unfortunately these prices are most definitely true. They are all on GW's site as pre-orders. I agree with you the prices are appalling, Tizz. I thought when they were switching the models to plastic they would be dropping the price, not making them cost $2-3 less then the medal models (which hold their value much much better).

I've seen GW mess up on prices of new releases before, but they usually fix it within a couple days...I'll give them a week, if it hasnt changed then that is one of the most insulting things I have ever seen as a customer and my money will be taken somewhere else from now on

Greedy B****. Millions of dollars profit isn't obviously enough.
My work made 25 million half year profit. They firing people to get costs down....

On another bullshit GW note.. High Elf Swordmaster Command box (metal).. The standard bearer doesnt come with a banner..................................................... WTF!?!
The model just has a stick that points into the air

None of my units have ever come with paper banners. All my command units always came with a metal banner.

we used to have to gw stores in Calgary and one closed its doors about a year ago. I don't shop at GW I prefer a rougue trader store but i get a lot of my stuff on ebay etc.. This price increase is just cr@p and i don't believe it will encourage younger people to join. Probably scare them away.

Since we are on this rant I have one other thing thats been bothering me from GW and thats the paint they are discontinuing. I can understand why as most of the paint are able to be created by mixing two colors together (Tentacle Pink is Warlock Purple and White), but why in the world would you stop selling the Mixing Pot??? Discontune the product that can be made by mixing, but get rid of the product to mix the colors in???

Really getting irritated...
