Cool, He's one of the Blood Line Vampire models. Though it looks like he's had the dragon cut off his helmet.

Wow, that's an old model. but very cool, I like how you finished "Bonapart". He may be small but he's still cool.

Thanks for the info Jacen Bell. I had been wondering about a couple of those.

I'm glad you like Bonapart. I had got the incomplete model when I got my hands on a large collection a while back, but unfortunately, the old Steam Tank was incomplete. As a result I ended up finishing it with left overs from my three new models.

I threw together three Maneaters to add to the ones I already have.

Maneater #1 (Gladiator)
Image
For this model, I cut the club from the hand I wanted to use for the right hand. Then I used a Drummel to grind the hand inside the gauntlet out before glueing the left hand inside the gauntlet and attaching it to the model.

Maneater #3 (Imperial)

I dug around in my Empire bitz a little for this one. I started by cutting the weapon from the right hand, then I trimmed the models wrist a little so the shield would fit properly. Then I removed the weapon from the left hand, leaving the handle before adding the pommel and blade of a greatsword to the handle. Finally, I took a giant feather from my empire bitz to attach to the models head. I'll paint him in Middenheim colors when the time comes. I'm thinking about adding a brace of pistols to this model, but I havent figured out how I want to add them yet.

First off, don't Ogres use braces of Handguns? Secondly, how about making a conversion where he's trying to steal the handgun of a Dwarf?

Yeah, Ogre Tyrants, Bulls and Maneaters are all allowed to take a Brace of Handguns. I have a couple of extra handguns from my Outrider sprues already setting with my Imperial Maneater, I'm just not sure of the best place to attach them. I'm thinking it will be just to the front of the knifes at the side of his gut plate.

I put together a Bruiser last night. I started by pretty much making an Irongut with a Ogre Bull's head. Then I cut the end off of his greatweapon and added the blade from a Ogre Bull's sword to the bottom of it, creating a saber staff of sorts. At this point, I used a drummel to take the chainmail off of two Irongut gutplates, removing the ridge from the inner part of those same plates so they would cup the model's shoulders properly when I glued them in place. All in all I'm pretty happy with the end result. I figure I can use him as either a Bruiser, or a Maneater pretty easily.

I finally did something with my last two Ogre bodies. Now I just need to put together my last Butcher and all my Gnoblars. Here are a couple of pics of my latest creations.

Bruiser w/two hand weapons
Image
I didnt really do a lot with this one. I just took two Irongut weapons and removed one hand before clueing the two parts back together. With an Irongut head and a couple of miss-matched Irongut arms I had myself another bruiser.

Bruiser Battle Standard Bearer

This one took a lot more work. For the weapon, I simply cut the blade off of a Bull weapon, then glued a curved blade to the hand before attaching it to the model. You cant really see it in this pic, but I took the gutplate with the small swords on the sides and cut the swords off before drummeling out the rudge on the inside. I then mounted it on the shoulder. Since that gutplate had a really similar pattern to the banner, I thought it would look good on the model. After that, I attached another banner pole to the top of the banner to attach the crows nest to. Then, I attached a couple of extra shields to the crows nest. A couple of bitz later and this was the end result!

I've just had a look through this thread. It's quite fascinating actually. You've painted a real abundance of miniatures and the thing that really stood out to me is how much you've improved over the course of this thread. When you look at the beginning and then compare the minis there to your Oxyotl you've painted there's been a massive improvement. You should be very proud of yourself. I think it shows the combined benefits of practice and forums like this one. Practice makes perfect as the old saying goes and having a forum to post pics of your minis in and get the opinions and advice of others is such a huge benefit. I know it's helped my painting a lot of the last year and it seems to have helped yours too. Looking forward to seeing your painting as it goes forward.
Also your Ogre conversions are looking great, some really characterful minis amongst them.
+1 Reputation from me as reward for a great deal of effort and enthusiasm for the hobby and the clear end result of those two things! :D

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed seeing how my painting has changed over this last year as I've picked up new painting styles and techniques.

Having the ability to post pics here has really helped my painting along. Thats one of my favorate things about this community, everyone comes together trying to help each other without cutting them down in the process. (Some sites are really cut-throat!) I might have a long way to go before I become a "Pro Painter," but with the help of this wonderful community I have no doubt that I will continue on my path of improvement! 8)
