Hey friend,

I like what the other guys are saying. I'd like to add that a unit or two of skirmished archers, although not tough by any means can act as a good flank guard and protect you from enemy missle fire. They are hard to shoot and with such a long charge range can really save your knights from unwanted arrows.

Never forget to take the lady's blessing. I agree that its one of the most important things for the brettonians.

Pegasus knights are way under valued, don't be afraid to use them.

I usually bring several dispel scrolls with my damsels. Brettonian magic is defensive if its anything.

Always be ready to support a charge. When the momentum ends, be ready to create it somewhere else or bring the previous target under the hooves of another unit.

Trebuchet's are not the best siege engines in the game by far, but they can become a fairly decent answer to enemies siege engines and some of the larger units or faster units that can cause problems, i.e. chariots, ogres etc

I hope this is helpful. Message me if you have any other questions.

Nico

I would hope you only bring one unit of skirmishing archers, as the skirmishing option is limited to 0-1.

Pegasus Knights are both over and under valued. They are not all that and a bucket of chicken. They're supremely good at their primary functions. They are not good enough to do anything against a R&F unit solo.

Dispel Scrolls on Damsels are ok, but I'd prefer to go with The Holy Icon on one.

Trebuchets are very good if you know some basic geometry and can estimate a few inches well. If you know they put their XYZ unit A inches in from their side, and ABOUT B inches over from your Treb, you can make a pretty decent guess from turn one using basic geometry- make sure you keep track of how far they move if your target is mobile. Additionally, they're fairly cheap, and are your only other rare option possible.

That would be correct. It makes guess range weaponry much improved. You still have to guess how many inches over on the one side of the triangle. I won't measure that, and wouldn't let anyone else either, not even during setup. However knowing the distance between two armies is a reasonable thing for commanders to have known, thus I don't have an issue with the army leaders knowing 24 inches between, deployed X inches in, etc.

Yep Pythagorean Theorum. A(squared) + B(squared) = C(squared). So if you know how long his deployment zone is, and how far away from it you are, you can do it. Here's an example :

Your playing on a 4x4 board. You know his deployent is 4 ft (48 in). You know your approximatley 3 ft away from his edge (36 in). So 4(Squared) + 3(Squared) = C(Squared) or your distance.

16 + 9 = Your Distance
25 = Your Distance give or take....

Theres the Pythagorean Theorum explanation for dummies  .

Stick to doing the math in your head. In the first place, while everyone does some version of this in their head while playing guess-weapons, most would probably think a calculator and/or chartwork with azimuths etc like a modern day artilleryman would be a touch over the top. Second, the ones who won't admit it to themselves may pitch a fit over even the theorum usage.
