I am would like to hear how did you discover warhammer, well personally I have played board games until warhammer, then I have seen a picture of necrons in Google and was interested in them. But I didn’t find them in the internet. Later one of my friends both me a necron lord in interned as a gift for birthday. So on I have fallout the name warhammer 40k in interned and founded some stuff) later fantasy came buy) the story was the same as with necrons) I have seen some warriors of chaos and wanted to paint them badly) Then I have seen a warhammer store in Finland and seen my lovely dark elves) somthing like that)))

Well, we have a store in my local mall (This is why I don't want to move) which is 20 minutes away. So, I looked at the demo and wanted to play a Dwarf vs. Goblin game. It was love at first sight with those stunties. So I bought Battle for Skull Pass that day and have been growing my stuntie army since.

For me, I play a game called Star Wars Miniatures. When I started making "customs" a couple of years ago I came across the 6th edition Warhammer fantasy rulebook for 45 cents at the local GoodWill so I picked it up for the little painting guide in it. At that point I made the mistake or reading the book and decided I enjoyed it enough that I picked up the Battle for Skull Pass box. Thats about the time I signed on here, so you all know the rest.

Started back in 1994. I had been playing HeroQuest with a friend who later went and bought the 4th edition Warhaamer box. After initially playing a few games I decided to collect Undead; though before I ever bought any models I read a battle report in which the wood elves won and I decided to collect them instead.

GW had a store in my local mall, any time I was at the mall(St. Vital Center) I'd usually end up going past it. I'd see the models and eventually I went in, ended up having a Mines of Moria match with a staff member. I played the fellowship and he played Gobbos. but the first model I saw(because of the way they had the shop set up.) was a skeleton frog, Venerable Lord Kroak. I bought a small lot on ebay.ca, it came with two old rule books(Fantasy & 40K) as well as some trees and templates from the Dark Elder vs. Space Marines starter set. a hand full of Dark Eldar and the starting of a Vampire Counts army(A wright Lord with no mount, a box each of zombies and Skeletons and a bunch of metal Ghouls). latter I came back with a pay check, the store was moving a cross the street to their own place in a strip mall. to make the move easier the where having a sale so they didn't have so much stuff to move(not every thing was on sale, mostly older stuff.). I came a cross an Empire Spearhead for 25% off and bought it. when they finally opened at the new location(renovations ran behind schedule.) the still some items on sale(the items that didn't sell before they moved.), I came a cross a cool model that I thought would look good as a Kislev general(Valmir Von Raukov I was going to use Empire rule book but do the model up like Kislev.) and a metal Doom Wolf for my Wright Lord. I got involved with a girl and my Warhammer fell to the side, I picked it up later and gave up on the Kislev idea and at that point I realized who the cool model was that I bought and decided to do Ostland... the rest as well as a few other models I've bought(including BFSP and a Strigoi, my only Vamp. ) is history. I joined www.warhammer-empire.com last year or so, but didn't really do to much there. I came a cross the Nautican Blog a few times, when I found this place I joined that day. I like the fact this place doesn't focus solely on one group.

A cousin had come down for 6 months and with him he brought 6000pts of warriors of chaos and dark elves. Me and my brother thought it was awesome, of course, and took a dig in skull pass. I then was attracted by a certain warrior priest and empire came to the forefront.

great topic STEAM.

I was introduced to it because I just couldn't figure out why my school mates were no longer interested in playing computer games (BBC micro and ZX Spectrum 48k in those days !)

I played my first game and a week later I had painted a 6x4 gaming board and had a regiment of gobbos.

I loved it despite being wiped out again and again by my mates Dwarf army (I have never forgiven the Dwarfs !)

That was about 25 years ago now.

My younger brother (at 32) collected Warhammer figures and I thought they were cool - so brought rulebook and box of High Elf spears at beginning of 2008 and have just gone nuts since then

I stumbled across Warhammer on the web, while searching for something.... which I fail to remember.

But either way, thought that Warhammer was very interesting and cool thing! (At the time, my hobby was making scale models, so it went over very well! A model that you can build, paint AND play with!)
