Not Warhammer Fantasy but Warmachine for my Protectorate of Menoth army, taking a break from Warhammer after a really busy year as I was getting a bit fed up with painting really little people...

Those look really nice, even if betrayed us  . Now, is that game futuristic, Warhammer-ish time zone? Because it kind of looks like it could be either one.

Combination of magic & 40k style play. Basically a skirmish game - infantry are on 40mm bases, medium sized infantry & warjacks (big killer robots) are on 50mm, large ones on 60mm. Average figure is about 4-5cm high although larger Warjacks can be upwards of 10-12cm. Every figure is metal so the game is expensive if you want to play large games - some warjacks can cost around NZ$150

Each army is run by a Warcaster - combat mage who can control a group of large robots (warjacks) and who is generally accompanied by infantry of various types. Races or nations to choose from a varied mine are basically Religious fanatics attempting to bring salvation to the unholy either by converting them or by setting them all on fire - appeals to me somehow.

You shouldn't put yourself down too much, you should reckon yourself in my kind of league ;) Still room for improvement, but hey: so do I, right?
Here's a tip: I see you use mainly about three or four shades of one color for each part you paint - base color, a shade and a highlight. Try to put in some more time and effort by using the tones that go between your shade color + base, and the base color + highlight, for smoother transitions. It will really up your game!

That is one big investment ! Still, I like the size of the models. One of the downsides to the hordes of plastic fantasy models is they feel a bit fiddly and insubtantial sometimes.

Privateer Press who make Warmachine and Hordes are transiting to plastic, but it is a more resin based plastic rather than the GW style. The game is 30mm scale where as GW is "Heroic" 28mm so they are slightly different. I have a huge load of Cryx stuff but have started to grab some Retribution stuff that I want to replace it with. That's as well as my Skorne Hordes army that is mostly unassembled.
