Folks, I think it might be time for another painting competition, this post is just to see how many people are "up for it".

I think we'll give a nice long deadlien this time so I don't have to keep extending it.

let me know if you're interested and how long you'd like to paint up a single miniature or unit from scratch.

Thanks,
Sigmar

Well put me down as tentative for a Skaven Hero.

I might not get it done,I might become afraid of paint, who knows.

I'm game. I actually have a couple of small projects planned for Competition #2!

I'd say, set the deadline for New Years. Everyone should have plenty of time over the holidays to work on their models that way.

If you have just ONE category, I'm game. Else I fear there are to few entries per category to have some semblance of excitement.
And aas before: peope must post their UNPAINTED models first I guess - have a model JUST for this competition.

And drats SOK, I wanted to do a Skaven char too! You beat me to it! Good luck though!

I'll paint my unit of Ironbreakers. I was planning on painting them the best I could, with washes, highlights, drybrushes etc. So this competition came right on time for me! I wanted to see how well I could paint if I really tried too.

STEAM, we did this with a earlier competition too: that way we make sure EVERYBODY gets a model specially for this competiton, and does not send in a model already done! Like yours! Get it?

I am repainting them, if I send a picture of old painted model and then of a new painted, will it count?

The idea is that we all post pics of the unpainted miniature(s) we are going to enter with a hand written note next to the miniature saying "Battle Reporter Forum painting competition #2". (I'll set up a thread later to post these pics to)

That way everyone knows that the miniature you're entering is one of yours and it was unpainted at the start of the competition.

Ok, how about these competition rules ? :-

1) We'll have 1 category but all entries should be Fantasy Battle related.
2) You can make 2 entries which can be anything, eg. single mini, unit, terrain, diorama, scenery.
3) Only one of your entries can win a prize so, if you're voted both 1st and 2nd best then you only win the prize for 1st place and the 3rd placed entry wins second best etc.
4) Deadline, Sunday 10th Jan 2010
5) All entries get +2 rep (so if you enter 2 you get 4 rep), even if you win a prize aswell.

The prizes.... (let's make it worth it !)

1st prize +10 rep (and a best painter avatar, like the Hammerer of the month but a different pic and their painted miniature in the painting competition forum thread until the next competition)

2nd prize +7 rep
3rd prize +5 rep
4th prize +3 rep
5th prize +2 rep
6th prize +1 rep

If we get 12 entries this time then you'll have a 50% chance of winning !

Hopefully, the high prizes and entry rep awards will encourage us all to get painting :D

How does that sound ?
