you can use "Filename > Browse" (below) to upload an image or the "Add image to post" link just beneath the message window (to host on freeforum's image upload site) or an external image hoster like flickr, piccaso or photobucket. Please try not to link to a less commonly used service or other forums because it will reduce our Google page rank

No more than one entry per category:-

1) best single miniature (can be mounted or be a war machine, monster)
2) best unit or group of miniatures (eg. in a diorama)
3) best modelling (ie. miniature conversions, terrain, buildings etc)


* to prevent anyone from taking before and after pics off the internet (not that anyone here would !), please post a note under your pic saying something like:-

"battlereporter painting competition #1 by forum name" or
"battlereporter painting competition - July 31st 09 by forum name"

"Here's my entry. I'll give all you guys a good try at this - the model is funny, cool even, but not extremely flashy, freaky or anything, so excell in 'special effects' and I guess you got a great shot at beating me

This is the Coolminiornot.com latest Limited Edition, called "Army Brat". I have included their artwork & painted version for reference. As you can see, I've replaced the gun with a Space Marine Bolter - looks a bit more awesome, to my taste

I chose it for it's big parts of (female) flesh - it's something I have little experience, so it'll be my own challenge as well - to paint it REALLY well."

Here is a pic of my model. It doesn't have the base or the gaps filled in this pic, but it is the only one I took before I primed the model.

Uhm...I'm almost done... need to do the base only, then take some great pics, and I'm ready to go!

I figured that I should get a pic up of what I'm working on. Its a conversion project. This is a pic of both the base and the model I am going to use beside the picture I am using for inspiration. I'll try to get another picture up some time this week showing a little progress.

Really lloking forward to that entry, Guardian.

And besides....I'm really...REALLY done now. Have to wait 3 months before I can post pics - drats!

Just wondering how everybody's doing wuth their entries?

Got a base coat on mine this last week, hopefully I'll get some more painting done this coming week too.

Well I finished the first 5 for my unit entry as well as Gorthor and another mini although I haven't decided what I will enter in the single fig category yet. I will figure that out while I finish the unit. I just primed the other 10 yesterday and I also primed one more single figure to work on. I will decide after all that one is complete. Still have a ways to go but I'm sure I will have them completed soon. And then the waiting!

Ok, I figure its long past time that I post what I want to enter in these competitions. I plan to enter two categories. So here's my official announcement that I'll be participating:

I'll be posting a pic this weekend. I'm entering one of my new Dark Heaven Reapermini Nautican miniatures. Not sure which one yet.

I might also enter some terrain, it will be... have a guess... a wave for my Nautican Cresters to ride upon as they break over the enemy

I'll post a messaeg on the portal page soon reminding everyone of the competition and also on the battlereporter blog.

Here's my entry - modified group of Crypt Ghouls, going to use a few of these as unit fillers

same as dims. i just gotta base then take pics. probably won't win, but it's still a well painted model.
