I agree with that!
Although I can say: I'm having a tournament december 14th, and I'm gonna try to put a giant as Dogs of War in there somewhere. I'll let u guys know what my list is/was, and how well it played!

Rowith,

Lol, indeed. Thos new army books certainly get the generals out of the wood work :)

Dims, I can;t quite imagine lots of furry critters recruiting a massive giant to fight alongside them. I assume they're paying the giant in beer ? I wonder what effect it has on a giant when brewed with warpstone :)

Sigmar: if you think of how much Chaos is woven into the race of Skaven, it would not be unlikely to have them 'borrow' a chaos giant (which is the way I will have it converted, dressed up and painted). And who can deny the idea of a very experienced packmaster being able to control a giant? Anyway, it is just a fun thing, perhaps not something for bigger events!

(I just wanted a reason to finally get the plastic giant model and really screw it up. Pics will follow when done ;) )

If your playing in a tournament with them make sure you have permission to use them, RTT rules no longer allow DoW units to be fielded.

how's the giant coming along dims ? I know what you mean about finding a reason to include it, it looks like a great model to paint especially if you're into tattooing the giant. Also, there's loads of space for extra conversions - I'd probably give it a backpack full of human legs and arms :)

Ah...that's one that's been in the freezer for some time. Did some cutting, gluing and puttying on it, so I'll post some pics somewhere tomorrow.

I've used it in a tourney the other day, and it worked charms! I intended to use it for scare tactics, or just to draw attention, and that's exactly what I got. Too bad that in more regular tourney they are not allowed, and in June, in the new Skaven book, the DoW entry will disappear like in all other books.

But it was fun though!

shame about the Dogs of War stuff really, I quite like the concept and the ability to "surprise" your enemy with something he wasn't expecting.

I guess they never quite fit properly, GW just wanted to keep those models in action. Still, I bet those DoW unopened boxed sets will be worth a mint in a few years. Might be a better place to put your money than the stock market ;)

More reliable too.

I'm hoping to build a few DoW units to compliment my armies. There are some really neat DoW units that I think would be fun to play.

With the new Skaven army book coming out in the near future, it wouldnt surprise me to see a few Skaven players digging their way out of their tunnels before too long. It should be interesting to see how their current army evolves.

Skaven is one of several armies I would still like to add to my own collection. I'm getting interested in what the new army book will look like. When it comes out I will probably pick up the book, but it might be a while before I start collecting them to any real digree. After all, I still need to flesh out my Lizardmen and High Elves armies! So many armies, so little time, . . . . .
