I recently was building my Grail Knights and Questing Knights the other evening when I realized that I did not care for all the difficulties involved with the Grail Knights. Luckily I started on the Questing Knights last and they were easy! I have one more group of Grail Knights to build but I will fill my ranks with Questing Knights or Knights of the Realm in the future. Plastic models are so quick and easy and who can argue the awesomeness of the Questing Knights? One piece and big honking swords. Righteousness... :D

The Questing Knights look ten times better with their tackle added on, though I highly suggest pinning those pieces.

What difficulty did you have with your grail knights? Mine always went together pretty well, though I usually pinned them as a precautionary measure.

The super glue takes sooooo long to dry. That is the hardest part about Grail Knights. I guess I'll have to pin them in the future? Yes?

The Questing Knights look great. I would love any tips you have on adding the tackle because that looks like it might get tricky.

I think the Grail Knights will be easier in the future as I just glue them and leave them to dry with lots of time. :)

I'm a big fan of pinning. I pin knight torsos to knight legs all the time. I usually glued the tackle to the questing knight, broke it off to pin it back in place... by gluing it first, I then have a reference for where to drill to pin it... usually the center of the tackle to the center of the top shield symbol is best/easiest- but that doesn't always work out. I also sometimes put a little dab of greenstuff filler between torsos and legs.

I pin my knights on to the horses. It just makes them so much easier to transfer. I have even pinned some of my lances on. Not on the metal models of course. They make an accel. which I believe is worth it money. I use it and I know other people that swear by it. I do not use the questing knights but I do have a box, unopened, that I have been thinking about.

You can also use just a little bit of water to accelerate superglue drying times.

Actually saliva. To do it completely right, I'd pin, but in the past before I had much practice, what I did was put a tiny dab of green stuff as a gap filler, add a drop of superglue to the green stuff in the "cup" of the rider legs, then lick the "post" at the bottom of the torso, then push together. Let the glue fully dry and trim/file any excess green stuff.

I use epoxy resign when I have trouble supergluing, it works a treat.

For anyone who hasn't tried it before...

You get 2 tubes of something "sticky" that when combined becomes hyper gluey. I mix some together and leave it for about 20 minutes and then apply to the 2 surfaces I want to glue. I push them together, hold in place with a vice for about 10 minutes and it becomes "Slayer / Flagellant like" ie. unbreakable. It's a lot less hassle than struggling with superglue.

Also you can mix different quantities of epoxy and apply to the surfaces to fill the gaps where you don't have a clean join. If you try doing that with superglue (not a good idea) you usually end up having to cut your fingers apart ! :D
