Anyone into WFB fiction? I haven't read any as yet but I'd really like to see one that centers around Swordmasters, especially their roll as inquisitors in Ulthuan weeding out the cults of the excess.

I spoke to a guy at GW and the best he could suggest for Elf vs Elf was Malekith. Can anyone else do better?

I have my source from THE most knowledgeable man about WHF (living in London no less!) that Gotrek and Felix series are on the scale of fine.

He says starting books are somewhat awful, but in the middle of the series, they get better.

(An Elf vs Elf is quite rare amongst the BL novels. Authors tend to pick more attention grabbing and well known canon, so your best bet is with either Melekeith or Malus the Dark Blade)

Ive read the Von Carstein trilogy which was pretty good, it started slowly and the 3rd book which dealth with Manfred was disappointing as I thought the story should have been much stronger. Books could be hard to read but they were enjoyable

Grudgebearer - book about Dwarfs is just fantastic highly recommend it
Oathbreaker - 2nd book about Dwarfs is complete rubbish

Anyone read and can recommend the 40k horus heresey books as they look interesting

I have read a ton of BL novels. Mostly on the 40k side of everything.

Malekith I have been told is an extremely good read. Haven't had a chance to sit down with it yet.

As for excellent Fantasy novels, Guardians of the Forest is a good one. I mostly like the older books. The Wine of Dreams, Zaragoz, Storm Warriors, Plague Daemon, The Konrad Trilogy etc. They are all very good, and I would recommend any of them.

I love BL!! Until recently I've just been reading 40k books.

The other day I went and picked up the three time of legends books. So far I've read Malekith and it was great!! Currently reading Nagash. It's awesome as well. It made me go and pick up the Tomb Kings army book and a box of skeletons :D

After I'm done with the time of legends books I'll go pick up the Malus and first Gotrex&F omnibuses. From what I've read about them online, these books seems to be the default strating point / most important books in BL fantasy.
