|
Hi Folks,
I wondered if any of you had watched my videos. I have just photo'd 3 more to finish round 2 and will have them online soon. I just wondered what people thouhgt. I get some feedback from YouTube but it's a bit random and I don't really know if anyone is following the series.
I'm keen to move onto small unit vs unit skirmishes and 1000pt battles. I think these will be quite god fun to make but I don't know if people would prefer those or prefer the 1 vs 1 hero fights.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Sigmar _________________ http://battlereporter.blogspot.com

I watched one of your skirmish videos (the volley gun one) and thought that was pretty interesting.
I personally would love to see a mix in the type of commentary you do. Perhaps some voiced interviews with the players to know what they are thinking for one might be interesting? (I'm thinking similar to a white dwarf article perhaps?)
Another could be a fluff oriented video. Fluff (for those who don't know) is all the storyline and background for the actual game itself. Perhaps tell the story from the viewpoint of one of the armies' generals?
Just throwing some thoughts out there, I enjoyed the Volley Gun skirmish though (poor orcs didn't know what hit them!)

I watched your Battle Royal videos and enjoyed them (you're a bit of a storyteller, aren't you?) but I think I would enjoy bigger battles even more.
Scurrdi's idea is great, by the way! I'm working at a TV station that used to cover kickboxing events and we had one fighter who used to talk about his own matches for us. It was pretty insightful and I guess that newbies like me could learn a lot from experienced players discussing their own tactics while we see them in action.
On the other hand, it might get a bit lengthy. But I think it's worth a try.

If I get the chance me and my brother plan on duking it out in a couple of weeks (Vampires versus Kislev). Mayhaps I'll see about videoing it and getting some commentary into place.

That would be awesome if you could scurrdi. Let me know if you manage to persuade your brother. A word of warning though, it might slow up the game quite a bit. _________________ http://battlereporter.blogspot.com

Sigmar, well whenever you come to BC, Vancouver, I can help you with your Battle Royal, but you live in England. Anyways, instead on doing 1vs1 character fight, i aspire more for bigger fights.
Any tips on makign my own WH battle videos??? _________________ "Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnasie and those cheesy things on stick" -Escir the Loopy, Governor of Corania, removed from office by Officio Assasinorum

I've got no tips, but this is an event that one of the stores in my area is doing which you might want to consider doing Sigmar.
Pick an army. Then choose 8 heroes (only 2 of which can be Lord choices) and then pit them against a 2000 pt army in which they must defend a middle objective.
It sounds pretty fantastic to me!

That sounds very similar to the ziggurat of doom featured in I think Mays White Dwarf with the Legendary Battles rules.
I think it sounds like a fun idea as well

I quite like the 8 hero vs 2000pt army idea. The problem I have is a lack of painted miniatures
I guess I just need to pull my finger out and get down to some painting.
The next skirmish vid will be 1000pt Vamps vs High Elves. Also, ages ago I promised a High Elves vs Dwarfs scrap (just a small 5 or 6 units affair) so I will probably do that too.
I got put off doing th videos a bit because my pc kept crashing (and it was driving me potty) but I've found now, if I add the music and sound effects at the end it's a lot more stable (I'm using Movie Maker)
I still have 3 battle royla fights I've photoed but not put into vieo form, so they will be first done.
Thanks for the ideas everyone,

Sorry for the continued delay in the production of these videos. I've been taking a rest from directing while I seek some inspiration !
Fights 13 and 14 have been photographed I just haven't got round to putting them into video format yet.
However, with my new site for Battle Reports on it's way ( http://2d6.blogspot.com) I plan to get back to these videos and finish off the Battle Royale. The Dwarf and Gobbo are in front right now but there are still some important fights to come so it's not over yet. _________________ http://battlereporter.blogspot.com
