i did this for VC too, but what do you think is the most useful magic item for chaos armies.

My pick is the Runesword, (if i remember correctly) +1 WS, Str, and attack. is that not awesome?

Father of Blades is pretty good, especially against good characters

Chaos Runeshield

Most armies are going to be packing some tasty Lords or Heroes and most of those are going to have some kind of magic weapon designed to cut swathes through your army. Charge in your Exalted Hero or Lord with this baby and render it useless. Considering you have to declare and accept challenges this little beauty should be a nice surprise when your opponent thinks his spiffy magic sword with Killing Blow is going to make a mess of you.

The most useful magic item for the Warriors of Chaos army is either the Golden Eye of Tzeentch, the Armour of Morrslieb, or the Book of Secrets.

my favorite item is the enchanted shield. Your chaos sorcerer now has a 2+ vs shooting or a 1+ in CC. i use them all teh time.

For purely chaos, well i really like the favour of the gods, for 5 pts, its almost a must take to make sure your hero gets a really good bonus for killing. Besides that i really like the book of secrets. Lv 1 magic and if your tzeench you get +1 to cast death, fire, or a shadow spell. Cant beat that.

No one has mentioned the Puppet?

I love the puppet myself. So much that I wrote it into my character Vela's fluff. Such a wonderfully Chaos-y item!
I also really like the Rending Sword, I know it doesn't get much love but re-rolling failed to wounds is invaluable for me as I always mess up the first rolls with my fighty characters!

That's because most people only use it along with the Black Tongue which is worst combo ever for getting your bang for your buck.

I love the puppet, particularly in any list involving a Hellcannon and/or Book of Secrets! That d3 can really win a game for you. I've used it to blow up Kairos Fateweaver once in the first turn. Was glorious that!
