lvl 1 mage 2 dispel scrolls
lvl 3 mage 2 dispel scrolls heavens
lord re-roll break and re-roll armor
Bsb war banner and virtue +1 res w/ genral alive gives me +3 in unit
hero add d6 charge
hero killing blow lrg

3 units of 9 realm knights
3 units of 9 Errant knights

21 skirmish logbow
17 rank longbow
15 rank longbow
15 rank longbow

4 Pegasus Knights full comand

Trebuchet

line up on the board longbow realm errant longbow realm errant so forth with pegasus behind and trebuchet behind shot till the hit 16 in. then charge no this would not work with hight elf but there are none down here mostly deamon and vampire some dwarf and empire .

Will it work?

Hi Garry,

I'm not too clued up on Brets but judging by what my old GW buddy used to say, knights are best deployed in units of 6 models strong. I have a feeling that Brett (our resident Bretonnian expert - who wins most of his battles) disagreed with this conclusion.

Try messaging "Brett" and send him the link to this thread to see what he has to say.

PS. I'll move this to the Bret thread and leave a shadow post in here.

I'm by no means an expert on Bretonnia, but since it was one of my first armies, I do have some experience with them. I'll take a moment to lay out something I've used with some success.

One large unit of archers, taken in a single rank will serve to protect your Treb just fine.

Put two of your heaviest hitting Knight units at the sides of the board to stop anything trying to flank you dead in their tracks, leaving one of the archer units close enough to each to effectively support them if the need arises while leaving them in position to support the middle of your formation if you need to.

One of my favorate things to do with this kind of army is to use a "Spear" formation to drive up the middle of your opponents army. If your opponent decides to flank your leading unit, you will be in a good place to hit those units where it hurts.

Think about doing something like this:

-------T-------
-------A-------
--A----P----A--
-E--R--E--R--E-
-------R-------

T=Trebashet
A= Archers
E=Errant Knights
R=Realm Knights
P=Pegasus Knights

Place your Characters wherever you want them, and put your skirmishers wherever you can best exploit weak points in your opponents formations.

I have tried that my biggest problem is with the undead and deamons they do not break. For the most part the other army's out there I can give a run for there money with what ever list I have brought. But those army's that do not break just are giving me a real hard time. That is why the knight units are so high adn I hgave so many longbow. Shoot at them for as long as I can then charge them with 2 units of knights to there one unit of what ever and hope to win res by so much I plow thru.
