Hello yall, your most favoritest member here to discuss my future plans of building a lighthouse for my armies.

I basicly plan to have a square light house. The first floor will just have a hole for a door.
A staircase will wrap around the building until it reaches the second floor.
Inside the second floor will be a wooden floor and a staircase up to the lightbeam thing balcony.
Also, the second floor will have little slits that could fit a cannon barrel.
Going up the staircase and up onto the top of the lighthouse (onto the balcony surrounding the light) there will be an open balcony with no walls.

It might be hard to imagine right now, but this is the general summary of how it will look. It may also have a house connecting to it, or just a plain lighthouse.

I hope to work on this after I've made more simple things, like a building, bunker, house.

EDIT: The lighthouse will be able to come apart. The roof and walls of the second story and up will be able to come off. This allows me to lift the whole thing up, put some peeps ont he first floor. Then, lift the second floor roof and walls up and put people on the second floor. Finally the lightbeam balcony is open allowing me to just place troops there.

Here's where you guys come in, I have a few questions:

Where can I get PVA glue?
What wood should I use and how much?
I have popsicle sticks and wire mesh, is it a good idea to use the popsicles sticks for wood floors and the two combined to make the balcony?
Any other comments?

P.S. I made another post because the last one was going all crazy on me.

While there's many a year since I last tried to make any scenery, I think that popsicle sticks works well enough for floors. apart from that though, I havn't worked with any other kind of wood, so I don't know what you should use for walls.

You can buy PVA glue from GW if you happen to live by a store, and if not try any hobby-centre or a DIY-store.
Best of luck with the project, will you log down your progress here?

Ya, I live by a GW but I'm trying to avoid their extremly high prices. Yes, I will chart my progress here but I may not start until I'm well versed in making things.

EDIT: Do any of you americans on here know any specific stores I can get greenstuff or PVA glue?

Ok) so you can buy pva in any store for builders) I usually use ( пласмасываю крушку) and put there half of pva and half water, mikes them, then put toilet paper there where you want, the put the brush in that water and put in on the paper. If you didn’t understudy I could write it in Russian

It's ok. I'm using elmer's glue lol. I know its not the best, but its working for my basing project. And for the wood, I'm probably going to use wood glue, then when it dries cut off the excess so it doesn't show. Both of these glues are technicly PVA glues.

You can buy wood PVA that is thicker and sticks really well (good for scenery)
Can get it at any hardware store etc.

For the actual light house, see if you cant find a cardboard tube which suits the thickness that your after for the main structure of it, maybe paper machee it to give it a texture to it.

Popsicle sticks are your friends. Remember to cut them and break them so they dont look so neat and.. popsicley! You can carve marks into them with a craft knight and get some brown wash / ink to brush onto them. Ink will seep into the scratches in the wood and look cool.

To imitate nails in the wood, get some blue tac (cheaper than blue stuff) and make some tiny balls and push them on, maybe glue them if they wont stick. Paint them bolt gun or something.

I have this cool miniwargaming tutorial that shows how to base, take good pics, make wooden floors, and a bunch of other things. So when I do get to this it should look awsome. Now just to build smaller things in hopes of gaining enough expertise to build this behemoth.
