I don't play Tomb Kings but I think there cool, I like Egyptian Pharaohs and Ancient Egypt and the Tomb Kings are really close to that. Eventually I'd like to make a Tomb Kings Army, I'm not sure whether to go for a Special Character or just make my own. I should mention that Queen Khalida the model is a favorite of mine, has been ever since I saw her. What I may do is my the model(maybe do some concerting.) and use it as my Custom Tomb King general.


Anyways, to my question. Which Character is better? and why?

Settra, Queen Khalida or Custom Tomb King?

My last larger game I played, my opponent used Settra. He's a mean, tan, fighting....man? Anyway, he proformed quite well until me and my fellow Dwarf-playing ally locked him in combat vs. a unit of Ironbreakers to the front and my Longbeards to his flank. Settra and the chariot unit he was with crumbled withing 2 combat phases. Although, he killed atleast 15 men total.


So, keep him mobile, keep him safe in a unit, and make sure you don't get flanked or your mighty hero will turn into a pile of bones.

Settra is pricey though IIRC. You can get a lot of mileage out of making your own guy and can therefore kit them out for whatever you want done. I used to have a TK army a long time ago but sold it. I'll be interested in seeing what they do with them when the new book comes out. I think things like the Tomb King's Curse need beefing up slightly as does the potency of their magic. But for Lords I'd suggest a King rather than a Special Character. Although I've seen a lot of lists that use a Prince on chariot and include a High Priest.

I have plaid them some times, I would prefer a normal tomb king. You can see this guy (vaulcv) in youtube hi had many tomb king plays. I learned something of them in his videos.

Personally, I like Settra. He might be expensive (although, I cannot recall his points cost !) but he's so full of character.

I seem to remember that he's pretty tough to kill too. I have just been reading my old blog post about him and it says he takes up 2 lord choices so you'll need to play a 3,000pt battle to field him

Cool, thanks for the help everyone. I think I'll wait till after the new Tomb Kings book comes out before I think about adding a new army..... might be an idea to actually get one of my three army's table ready before adding another.
