Warhammer Fantasy Battle Reporter Forum

Ok, so I was sitting in Social Studies class, last hour thinking of Warhammer. (This is strangely the only hour I think about warhammer. Maybe becasue its the last hour, or becasue its Social Studies UGH!) Anyway, we were talking about something interesting like Rome, Greece, Middle Ages, and it got me thinking. What would be a better colour scheme for Empire? A Spartan theme (Red capes, those coold looking shields, Look at the movie "300" and you'll know what I'm talking about.)? Or a Roman theme (Lots of gold,metal, haven't decided on a main colour of Rome yet)?

So, tips and feedback are appreciated!

300 is to Spartans as Mcdonalds is to steak.

I'd prefer to go for a Macedonian color scheme of Purples and golds.

I know they weren't that good but I'm just taking that as their colour scheme. Anyway, if they were a whole city-state made for war, I think their favourite colour would be the colour of blood! Nice idea with the Macedonians though.

Yes, but I'd probably try to convert them to make them half naked, and they'd have red capes. But, if I can't do that what you did is pretty awesome.

that being said if you had that unit, if you look at this larger pic....

if you look at most of the models, excluding the Champion model. all the models pants are tight fitting and could be if painted flesh colored be passed of as bare legs.

I meant the other way around, like bare chested. Anyway, when I get my Empire people (it may be a while) I will see what I can do you them. If I go the spartan way, I'll try to make them bare-chested, with red capes, and the helmet with red crests (the feathery stuff on top). If I can't make them bare-chested, red capes and red crests are fine enough with me.

you could use Marauder chests or Flagellant chests, their fairly bare chested....


and you could use the plumed Spartan Helmet(Alcatani unit) and some capes.
maybe even use the lower half of the Marauders too.

That first picture is perfect for what I need! That paired with the Alcatani helm, and some capes (maybe greenstuff) and I have a Spartan army.

it's a tutorial about making helmet crests, it's for SM but you could use it on Empire Helmets probably.
