I am, to put it mildly, an incompetent modeler. Yet teh Warriors of chaos do not have a Great Wepon option on their sprue. But I desperately wanted to make a unit with Shield and Great Weapons for the campaign. Strong enough to do damage to anyone (S6 with GW) but still rugged.

So I took some Chaos Knight lances, cut them down, took some Chaos Knight arms, tried to glue them on. I am not done painting these guys, but do they look believable as Great Weapons?

Lol, I like the lined paper background for the last pic . Anyway, they look like they can pass off as Great Weapons, but can they have shields? I thought GW's required 2 hands. Or are WoC so epic they hold great weapons in one hand? Or are they a unit that has either GW's or Handweapons and Shields?

nah, they cannot have them at the same time...but I give my unit both (making them 18 points per model) for flexibility considerations so yeah, it is either or; either using Great Weapon or using regular and shield

I personally would assume they were halberds but would have no problem with them being great weapons if you pointed it out. They look good on the Warriors.
