I'm looking at picking up a group of these guys. But I have a few questions about them first.

How are they best used?

How large of a unit should I take?

What are some good tactics to use them for?

They are good at defending flanks and war machines.

They are good at keeping opponent's units tied up so you can flank them with your hard hitters.

They are crazy in killing lightly armoured troops (-2 AS) because of their pistol attacks in combat. YES, They are the only unit that uses pistols in Close Combat.

They move and shoot with no negative.

OK, they are slow (M3) but they can always March. :D

I kind of figured they would be good for defending flanks and warmachines. Most of the rest of it is news to me. Sounds like they could be a VERY useful unit if used correctly. (I havent got around to checking out the stats yet, but I'll be sure to do that some time tonight.)

I love these guys. They were my first DoW regiment along with the Marksmen. I have found that a regiment of 12 or so is pretty effective (6x2). I wouldn't go more than 14 (7x2) as the effectiveness wouldn't really increase all that much for the cost.
