Right so this is not a help me post pe se, it came about as my sub forum has died and i do not like it
rather than go through the Pro's and con's of different 2K armies im going to spice it up and restrict this to where TK's struggle most small games, namely the 1K point battle.
This is for competitive play against all comers.
First few days we are going to be talking about Character build.
Tomb prince
Icon bearer
Liche priests
There are two basic builds i can see Magic and non magic
Magic will have - TP, and 2 LP's with a possible staff of ravening.
Non magic has a few dfferent builds but i believe it will be a near naked LP and one or two TP's (i would go with one)
As far as i see an icon bearer does not really fit into a 1K battle (convince me other wise).
So the floor is open to talk about what their character set up will be.
Magic options should go here aswell which ill get to when i post again.
Also you should consider whether you would put a TP in a chariot.

Well, i personally wouldn't put TP in chariot unless, opponet has lots of "shooty" artillery. But can't say other wise, because not having played much in games. Although normal skeleton warriors WS 2 never cease to amaze and anoy me endlessely. _________________ "Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnasie and those cheesy things on stick" -Escir the Loopy, Governor of Corania, removed from office by Officio Assasinorum

I don't know too much about tomb kings, but I know that putting your TP in a chariot is always a decent option as the extra range available for charging is always a bonus.
I agree with the no need for an icon bearer in a smaller game either. As I also like to have more troops on the board I think a max of 2 characters will work just fine. At 1000 pts your not going to be facing too much magic heavy-ness as most armies still need to fill alot of their core requirements. More troops on the table in smaller games usually gives you many more options tactically.

I find TP (hehe.... remind me of Toilet Papers...) very useful on Chariot too, but unless it is a small games, i would rather use Settra. _________________ "Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnasie and those cheesy things on stick" -Escir the Loopy, Governor of Corania, removed from office by Officio Assasinorum

you need to be playing massive games if you want to use settra. He takes up two lord choices

Let me clarify it up.
IF a big game, Settra
IF a small game, TP or TK wahtever. _________________ "Revenge is a dish best served with mayonnasie and those cheesy things on stick" -Escir the Loopy, Governor of Corania, removed from office by Officio Assasinorum
