So after a slowing down period, I'm planning on getting back to Games Workshop this week since I finish Uni by noon every day, and theres a Games Workshop in town, so going to stop by, do some painting and have a few battles if possible. And I want to add some Reavers to my army, which is distinctly lacking in cavalry. I have Silver Helms, but lets be honest, they're pretty cr@p. And I don't want to fork out for Dragon Princes yet.

So I was thinking, for the Ellyrion Reavers, to buy the box set of Wood Elf Glade Riders or whatever they are called, and convert them to use as Ellyrion Reavers. Was just wonder if anyone had any ideas to help convert them, or tips or tricks, as I don't usually do any type of ocnverting, unless its a small weapons swap or something.

Edit: Changed Wild Riders to Glade Riders. Had to go and check on the website. ^_^

Location: Land of cheese, wooden shoes and a very free drug policy
Highscores: 1
You easily keep the legs from the Glade Rider, but then take the ordinary high elf Reaver torso, and swap the head for Dark Eldar (40K!) heads?

Well I came across this picture of Ellyrion Reavers that look to be a combination of the Wood Elf Glade Riders and either the High Elf Spearmen or High Elf archers. I've included the link below...

By the way, I heard that GW might be putting out some new plastic cavalry models, anyone know what armies they are planning to do if this rumor is true at all???

Here's that link:

Swap for Dark Eldar heads? O.o!

I've bought the box of Glade Riders today, but after looking through my Warhammer stuff, I threw out all my spare bits in my bits box. :( :( However, I've got quite a lot of Spearmen and Archers that I bought cheap from Ebay, so I'll just cut some of those up if I need heads and bows and stuff. I'll get some pictures up if they end up being any decent. :)

Smack,

Did you by chance visit the link I supplied above? You'll need to do a copy and paste if you want to see the photograph of the converted riders. That should give you a good idea of what they'll look like and if you even like the idea of using the wood elf models.

No sorry. I just sort of skimmed past it lol. Checked though and i'm hoping to get mine decent compared to them. Not had time to work on them tomorrow, stupid juniors at youth group, but I've got a free day on Thursday and lots of spare time tomorrow, so will get them done then hopefully. :)

You could always purchase your High Dragon from the War Store (www.thewarstore.com) and get 20% off and a flat shipping fee of $5.95 or you could shop at the Miniature Market (www.miniaturemarket.com) and get 20% off and if you spend $75 or more shipping is free!!! Plus no tax with either store!!!

silver helm legs, archer bodies/spearmen limbs...if you've also got a lion chariot you could take tiranoc parts-the two handed spear pose is quite dramatic.spares from plastic BSB also good.im not too familiar with glade riders;are the horses barded?with silver helm horses, some people could be fussy due to armour.i took a file/milliput to the scale mail.maybe try old Bret horses and again tiranoc steeds...you're definitely going down the right road though, converting them;i think these fast cavalry should be all about the horse and tack, given that they live in the saddle.
