good post Tizz. Thanks for keeping an eye out there for Dark Elves.

I like the look of the 2 hand weapons Corsair.

DE's are actually one of my favourite model types in terms of appearance.

I think I should open an all armies rumour thread - what do you think ?

I think it's a good idea. But I dont want it titled "Rumors" I think something like "Upcoming Army News" will be more appropriate. I dont like how on warseer everyone posts their hopes and desires and a new army list, I want ours to just be straight news for whats coming up next. What do you think about that idea?

sounds good to me. do you think maybe I should just call it "News" and then we can set up new threads as appropriate. I only though that because it might not all be army news, it could be any other GW news.

Actually, forget I said that, what about "Warhammer Army News"

How does that sound ? We could post any other Games Workshop news in the existing "Warhammer Chat" thread.

Sounds perfect. I'm constantly browsing Warseer and a few other army-specific sites so I should be able to add in a fair share of upcoming Army News.

Grossly underpowered compaired to a majority of the other armies out there. That's due to a not very well thought out edition of the army book, they kinda just threw 6th edition together and called it good. It's definitely been a difficult army to start with and it took me quite a while before I even got a draw in a game. While the army book is lacking, you get it back by having some of the most fantastic models in the range and a highly diversified list. You can run magic heavy, combat heavy, or have a bunch of monsters running around. I think Dark Elves probably have the most monster variety out there. I could make a 2000pt list with a Dragon, a Manticore, a Pegasus, lots of Cold Ones, a Hydra, and a Giant.

I'm very excited for a brand new shiny book though! I'll finally have an army where I have a fair chance of winning. Dark Elves currently suffer from below average magic items a big lack of hitting power, and next to no armour (like most elves).

I think one of the biggest drawbacks of all Elves is their low toughness.

I ceratinly agree about the magic item list, it's very limited. Compare it to the High Evles magic and then the High Elves combat ability. Dark Elves are markedly weaker.

Hats off (that's a compliment !) to Tizz for working out how to win with this army. I think your patience and endeavours will be rewarded with the new army book.

Btw,I agree, the Dark Elf miniature designs are the best on the block.

I think with the new Hatered to everyone rule and eternal hatred to High elves will definitely help the dark elves this time around. As for their toughness of 3, well they are elves , thin folk with long lives. Hopefully they will get some decent armour saves. I agree with everyone about their minitures being some of the best out there. i love the witch elves and executioners and I am looing forward to the new cold one knights etc. I haven't played with my dark elf army in over a year so I'm looing forward to putting it to use again soo. I will have to touch up my current stuff with additions of the new as well. I don't have spearmen in my old list so I will put some in the new one, at least a block of 20 with some kind of banner. Oh! I'm ranting again.
Cheers Smile
