I have a question for you guys.

What base size do the TK giants stand on? I dont have any TK giants but I would like to use an Undead Mammoth (using the stats of the Giant of course) in its place. I just cant find what size the Giants base is. I am thinking 40x40.

I dont really care for the look of the TK giants thats why I am wanting to use an undead mammoth I have had since the 80s.

In fact, very VERY officially, according to the rules, Giants should be placed on the newer Dragon bases (40x80 or something?), like they come with the latest High Elf dragon. But, not every giant model has this base added already. You'll see future models of dragons, giants, and probably stuff like stegadons also with these bases.

Yep they are bigger. On the GW website it says they are 50x75. Which is great for me as my mammoth base is just about that size. I have wanted to use that thing in a battle since I picked it up back in 88-89. Twisted Evil

Very useful, thanks Kheotour. I thought they were still using the 50x50 bases. This significantly downgrades them in my view, it makes them more vulnerable to flanking and they will receive more attacks if hit in the side. I assume the 75mm is the side and not the front ? I can't get into the GW site from work so I cannot check Sad

Yeah, the 75mm is the side. And I agree it makes them more vunerable to attacks. I havent seen giants do a whole lot in games. In a game I watched a few months back the Skaven army had a giant and it died quite easily. I was very supprised.

I do look forward to using my undead mammoth though. Smile

Nother question for you all.

Does anyone know the base size of the Casket of Souls? I am going to make my own, using my Plague Cart from 3rd edition. Just need to know the size of the base I have to work with. Smile

Well a War Machine like the Casket has no base size as you dont exactly attack it, just the models using it, so there's no need to worry about a base size!

yeah, but I just want to know what size of balsa wood to cut out so I can make my little diorama for it. Smile

Also dont you measure from the edge of the Casket when determining the distance a liche is from it?

From the pictures I see in the tomb kings books it looks like it might be 75x75mm or 100x100mm So I may just go with one of those.
