Hello folks and lasses if any around. As I have started my journey into Warhammer Fantasy i've gathered myself some 2500 points worth of Dark Elves but now as i sought a new challenge i've chosen to collect some Daemons for my own personal pleasure.

So far I've acquired these:

1x Bloodthirster
1x Herald of Khorne on Jugger

6 boxes of Bloodletters
2 boxes of Daemonettes
5 Bloodcrushers
3 Boxes of Horrors.

These were aquired over five months and are all assembled and half painted

They were tested out in one battle versus an Empire list which I do not remember of the top off my head.

I made use of both Bloodthirster and Herald of Khorne on the Juggernaught.

Here is my list more or less:

Lord -

Bloodthirster - 650 pts
Gifts: Obsidian Armour, Firestorm Blade, Axe of Khorne

Heroes
Herald of Khorne - K'zarasz - 175 points
Gifts/Upgrades: Juggernaught, Obsidian Armour

Core units:

Regiment of Bloodletters (20) - 268
Upgrades: Musician, Bloodreaper

Regiment of Bloodletters (20) - 268
Upgrades: Musician, Bloodreaper

Regiment of Bloodletters (20) -268
Upgrades: Musician, Bloodreaper

*The Bloodletters were the main shock and awe force of the army.

Daemonette Regiment (10) - 130
Upgrades: Alluress, Musician

Daemonette Regiment (10) - 130
Upgrades: Alluress, Musician

*The Daemonettes were used as flanking forces providing support for the Bloodletter units.

Pink Horror Regiment - (15) - 180 points
Pink Horror Regiment - (15) - 180 points

Special:

Only one selection here, the Bloodcrushers who countered and repelled a regiment of Empire knights with ease as they were led by the Herald.

I'll come up with more details on how the fight progressed later.

Everyone raves about the herald. His stats seem to match up to his reputation too.

If you get a chance post a battle report in the forum here:-

and I'll copy it across to my :-

Hey Sigmar,

Well the enemy, off the top off my head brought this to battle:

Lords & Heroes:

1x Bright Wizard Lord

Heroes: 1x Bright Wizard and an Empire Captain

*I can't remember which magic items he had on what Hero/Lord

Core Units:

Surprisingly here he brought a Horde of State Troops, most notably full regiments of Swordsmen and Handgunners to mow down my lines of course.

I believe there were four swordsmen regiments and two handgunner units as well.

Special:

Here he had the usual Outriders moving around as fast cavalry to harass my troops.

His rare section boasted the usual Helstrom Rocket Batteries and I believe there were units of greatswords on the field as well and Reiskguard Knights as he called them.

Onward to the battle. The battlefield itself was a small crop field just outside of a town (his troops were defending the town in our so called battle scenario). He deployed his Cavalry on the left flank just outside a small patch of trees, his state troops taking most of the battlefield itself. Each wizard was keeping close to a unit of handgunners, ready to move and deploy their deadly spells at a moment's notice, both being mounted on horses. The captain was on foot hanging by with the Swordsmen. His artillery had deployed on a small ridge just outside of town and his greatsword units took the center.

My units were approaching from the field itself with the bloodletters taking the midfield, eager to engage the enemy up close and personal, the daemonettes on the flanks slightly behind to assist wherever needed. The Khornate Bloodcrushers and their Herald commander popped in on the left flank. I suspected he was going to deploy his Outriders to gun down either my daemonettes or bloodletters then deploy his heavily armoured knights so i kept the Crushers in close proximity moving just behind the cover of a bloodletter unit. The horrors settled eventually on a small rise nearby ready to bombard the enemy with spells (as they were both considered level 2 wizards). The Bloodthirster took center-field using his own bloodletter troops as a meatshield as he advanced.

On the first turn nothing much happened. My troops pressed closer and closer and with the Horrors reaching spell range with his swordsmen, the first unit proceeded to lob Flickering Fire of Tzeentch at the handgunners cowering behind a unit of swordsmen as my horrors were on high ground.

The second horrors unit proceeded forward eager to get to his warmachines that were somewhat on the right of his army and used the bloodletters as cover taking their time. The letters marched forward along with the support daemonettes and crushers not far behind. The bloodthirster took to the field, eager to lead by example. His flight allowed him to reach a swordsmen regiment and he settled quickly into close combat with them.

Seeing this, my friend acted as I predicted. He moved for my left side bloodletter unit to gun it down with his Outriders and eventually proceed with his Reiskguard knights once they were weakened. Four Bloodletters died in the shootout. His Reiskguard knights moved to engage the bloodletters but perhaps a distance miscalculation did not allow them to charge. As of his wizards, one took out a couple of horrors while the other suffered a miscast but without disastrous results for him. The helstroms kept themselves busy with my right side daemonettes, ignoring the approaching bloodletters. The Bloodthirster trashed the floor with the swordsmen regiment as expected with his combo of killing blow/flaming attacks and rendered his captain's magical items useless due to the Obsidian Armour.

As the game itself proceeded the Bloodletters now happily in charge range of the Reiskguard knights proceeded to intercept and with the Bloodcrushers in support range both Khornate units eagerly engaged the Imperial riders. What followed was a slaughter of epic proportions with the Bloodcrushers landing on the flank of the Knights. The Hellblades did their job properly and eventually the remaining Knights fled the battlefield. Now with both horror regiments within striking range they both made short work of the gunmen respectively warmachine crews. This allowed the surviving daemonettes who passed their instability test to march in on the right and engage with the regiment of bloodletters on their side the Imperial swordsmen. On the left with the fleeing knights and Outriders out of the picture for this turn the daemonettes moved to assist the Bloodthirster taking the enemy's flank. As his other regiments of swordsmen closed in the remaining Bloodletters engaged and soon the crop was reeking with both human and Daemonic blood.

With most of my units now in close combat his wizards were not left with much to do but sit it out and watch pulling to the back of the line. While he used the detachment system extremely well his entire left flank infantry fell to the Bloodthirster and daemonettes. With the Knights gone and the greatswords exchanging blows with the bloodletters the Crushers wheeled around his units, heading for his gunline. Despite the valiant effort of the poor gunmen they were trampled down by Khorne's Shock Cavalry.

With the carnage still unfolding the Bloodthirster bellowed a challenge and my friend already angered responded with his wizard Lord. Although I did not expect that I was more than happy to dispatch his General from the battlefield. To my dissapointment what was left of his army turned tail and fled. *sob*.

It was my only match played as demons within 2700 points worth of units. Of course as the scenario went on the town was conquered and its inhabitants slaughtered and sacrificed. While many will whine about the Daemons being a broken army I believe they're good at what they do if used properly. As you said Sigmar they did draw blood. Human blood in industrial quantities for their first game. Now I am eager to buy some more possibly Plaguebearer units and possibly a Lord of Change.

More will come.

Cheerio!
