I've had my empire models since 1991, but my early paintjobs were atrocious. So I've launched (last year) into a massive repainting project- massive in that I am slowly painting each regiment in between other (non-Empire or non-GW) minis. I've got two regiments (crossbows and gunners) and a couple cannon finished. I'm also painting a few individual models on display bases for the shelf. Anyway- here's most of what I have finished:

Hi evilcartoonist,

First of all, welcome in and thanks for accepting the invite.

These minis are awesome, very impressed with the whole look and feel of them. You've managed to give them some real character. The banners are very imaginative and superbly implemented and the well arranged scenery items (especially for the cannon gun section) finish off an excellent job.

I've added your pics to the forum slideshow.

Some very nice models! I'll be looking forward to seeing more! Is there any chance we can get a couple of pics of your scenery as well? It looks like you have an impressive assortment in the background.

I've got some more terrain, including a full-size galley, I just haven't taken pictures of everything (I DO have pics of the galley; I just figured I better ration this stuff out until I have some more figures on deck to show off :)

...and here's a better shot of the artillery crews of the Watchtower (and my artillery park; I only have one more gun and a couple crew to paint). The bases were painted with a stone pattern because I painted them before I built the watchtower top. I'm keeping the stone-painted bases, however, just in case they get drafted into fortress duty.

I like the stone pattern on the bases. I think they will look great when they the troops get transfered to fortress duty.

The tower is actually a Games Workshop Fortress tower; I built/added the second-story addition, the sidestair and the top-story blockhouse. It's all simple mat board and basswood construction. Simple, yes, but tedious; there's probably about 15 feet of wood in that tower.

I saw that the bottom part looked a lot like the GW tower. I just thought it was an older GW model that isnt available anymore. Nicely done!

@thepowner238

On a side note: You can search the internet for paper models and find a lot of fantasy buildings that are pretty easy to build. They arent hard to find and most are really easy to build. You can google "paper models," "paper models 28mm," or "paper models fantasy" and find a LOT of useful stuff.

Here are a couple free companies detachments, aka, leftover figures and Mordheim warbands. I've converted both witchhunter captains, adding a shield to one (where there had been a decapitated head) and a pistol to the other (where there had been a torch.)
