Thanks. I'm looking for this to be an army that is competitive but not broken, and maybe a little bit different from standard vampire builds. Do you think I achieved that?

Standard table size, road from east to west (Has every single scenario been like this?). Defender gets 50% more troops, so if the defender has 1000, the attacker has 1500, if they have 2000 he/she has 3000. Forests line the outside of the road. The defender must be The Empire. The attacker must be B...

Very impressive for a first battle as any army, especially wood Elves, who most people think got nailed this ED, against Vamps, who are supposedly pretty good this time around. Lothern Sea Guard with lore of Life buffs and Ockhams Mindrazor beating off a Chosen Funbus for 4ish rounds of CC, only los...

This is a thread where you can post all the funny, cool, lucky, or just plain crazy 8th ed moments. Ill start: One of my first battles in 8th ed was Wolf and me (Empire and High Elves) against a friends Dwarves. We didn't really make lists, we just plopped units down until they looked even, just to ...

Much of this is for monetary purposes so I can buy two battalions and half much of my force done. Also, while they are expensive, they are also quite hitty and durable, and the Corpse Carts and vampire allow me to keep them at full strength. My lord is built for flexibility. The Carts are slow, I ha...

given that it only takes 10 points, it is worth taking because if he takes a butcher, Regen will hurt badly. And if not, 10 points is not really a sink. Can you raise skeleton units past 20?

Its easier to avoid taking damage with Chaos Knights. They have 4 toughness and 1+ armor. And often, mark of nurgle or tzeentch. a unit of 5 or 6 with just musician is under 200 points, can deal with smaller units and then use the reform to hit them in the flank, so small units actually help them sp...

But that said, Pistoliers cannot do conclusive damage to a ranked unit. Why? they do not provide any CR, and with bsb they are unlikely to break an enemy. it takes one turn of shooting from my 121 point HE Archer unit to kill ~3 Pistols. More if close range, which is likely. Not a huge waste. if you...

Minor problem with all Brett knights is trouble turning. such a deep formation makes wheeling difficult (no model can move more than its maximum allowance, models further back in a unit move further than ones wheeling in front.) So, flank charge is hard with large Brett units. 6 is fine, cause it st...
