Since I plan to write a little article on the different Stegadon Builds, I figured I would approach the community to gain the insights of other players. I want to do a short piece on each of the different builds to give a complete overview. All constructive criticism and insights are welcome.

1. Stegadon (Special Choice)
2. Ancient Stegadon (Rare Choice)
3. Skink Priest on Ancient Stegadon w/Engine of the Gods (Hero Choice)
4. Skink Chief on Stegadon (Hero Choice)
5. Skink Chief on Ancient Stegadon (Hero Choice)
6. Lord Mazdamundi on Zlaaq (Lord Choice)
7. Tehenhauin on Ancient Stegadon w/Engine of the Gods (Lord Choice)

Re the Special Choice.

I recently fought a 2 Stegadon army and while I was initially worried about taking on these beasts... I shouldn't have been too concerned.

I held up both and ended up skewering them both with bolt throwers.

I think if they're used in numbers they might be more scary.

I did have to devote quite a lot of points to cater for them so gievn that they took out a holw expensive unit after a charge they may have been worth their points.

I recently played a good friend of mine and he had his Lizard out (HA!).
Stegadons are really only lethal on the charge and if they have a bolt thrower on them. Other than that my unit of Miners took care of them on a flank charge while my Lord and Ironbreakers distracted it.

BTW He had a ancient steg and a normal one with a bolt thrower hiding out in a building (which lucky for me didn't score a hit).

Skink cheif w/ war spear on stegadon is deadly if you can protect it long enough to get into CC. The only problem is if your opponent has enough cr@p troops to tie it up for most of the game; because then it just becomes a large point sink.

My second favorite steg is an ancient w/ skink priest and EotG. March this beast up the center of your line and watch it decemate your enemies' units under a mailstrom of the Burning Alignment. This is pretty effective against more elite armies like WC and BE.

Watch out for dwarves blasting your stegs to bits before you get a chance to bring them to the fray though.

So, I'm almost done writing my article on Stegadons now. I was wondering, does anyone have pictures of their own Stegadons they would like to share? I'd like to find pictures of each of the stegadon builds to place throughout the article, but even a couple would be nice.

PS: Please dont post pics of your Stegadon unless you are ok with me using them! I'll be happy to give you full credit for any pictures you post.

Only infantry can go in buildings.

It does create a pretty funny visual though, dosnt it?

Lol, it was in a ruined building. So it was like rubble and things, difficult terrain.
