Zombies cause fear. Gobbos are fears main victim.

thats leadership 8. To clutter everyone around him would take out other advantages. id still take my chances with always present zombies on a fear test for 4 pts a model.

the badest think for orcs are blood knights since they are mashine of death!

*cough* This is a vampire counts thread *cough*

With the zombie argument, why not take them?

- Cheap
- Fear-causing
- They can always come back
- Orcy said you will always be raising them... How is that a bad thing?
- They can hold up a unit
- Mass combat res
- Can swarm an enemy, making them run
- If you don't bring them in a 2000 pt game you won't have very many models, zombies double the amount you would have without them
- They freaking zombies!!! Awsomeness!
- Cheap in buying them
- Easy to build and paint

Argument over, see ya later, good bye, have a nice day  .

Thank you for the tips I will definatlygive it a shot and let you know how it went.

Also, what do you think of using named heros like Konrad or Mannfred in 1000pt games?

both characters are more points then a regular Vampire.(not by much though.... 20-50 pts I think....)
I haven't played ether but I know Konrad has no magic, you's need another Vamp or a Necro to go with Konrad.
I don't have my Vamp army book handy but I believe Mannfred the Acolyte is a Lv.2 mage character and can take a single magic item at what ever cost.

Alright, I have my book handy now. I made a mistake or two. lets see if I can do a bit better job.

Konrad von Carstein 145 points

you may only include one Konrad in your army.

Equipment:
*Hand Weapon
*Heavy Armour
*Sword of Waldenhof

Vampire Powers:
*Red Furry
*Infinite Hatred

Special Rules:
*Undead
*Vampire
*One Bat Short of a Belfry

Mannfred the Acolyte

Magic:
Mannfred von Carstien is a Lvl.2 wizard and knows spells the Lore of the Vampire.

Vampire Powers:
*Walking Death

Equipment:
*Sword of Unholy Power

Special Rules:
*Undead
*Vampire

Options:
______________________

Mounts: (one choice only)
*Barded Nightmare ...20pts
*Abyssal Terror ......135pts

Magic Items:
One Arcane Item for it's listed points value.

actually, after looking at the options of a Vampire and Mannfred the Acolyte I think Mannfred is a good choice.
you may not get to pick his powers but the powers he has aren't to bad. and he's a Lvl 2 wizard compared to a Vampires Lvl 1 wizard, and he can chose any one Arcane Item.

as for Konrad, if your not going to focus or Raising the dead or bringing a Necro he's a good choice.
that being said, after looking at Konrad's page and powers He's a good character even with "One Bat Short of a Belfry".
He's designed to kill and maim. and Hatred to all enemy's is a good thing. too bad I'm not a fan of the Konrad model.

I hope this helps, though I've never played ether of them.
anyone else know about the?

powner. yes have the models but do not take them as a unit because you could buy 2(!) blood knights for the cost. if you raise them then yes they are quite good. just wait till you raise 5 then it is kill and you give away 50vp for free
