You can counter that though with big units of 25-30+ meaning that any enemy has to concentrate ALL of their shooting on a single unit in order to score enough kills to force a panic test - and that is what shooting is supposed to do, force panic checks.

Our weakness is skeletons! I have about 80 models of skeletons and cant really use them to anything! Except to put on 10 for fun with the banner: Cursed Pennant of Mousillon (D6 S4 hits once they pick it up - And D6 S3 hits for every round they keep the banner). But then again, the unit would cost 88 points + 25 For the banner. So no really gain there :-)

I used the chaos knights for my blood knights and they worked excellent... switched their heads for ghoul heads, and it looks pretty good if I do say so myself... plus here in Canada Blood Knights are $110 a box while the Chaos knights are $25... so it was a no-brainer for me...

As for weaknesses, I think one of the greatest weaknesses (although some others would see it as a strength) is the reliance upon bunkers and ION spam. Just sitting there raising huge tarpits around you and playing point denial can be boring for opponents to play (and the vamp player as well).... plus I believe it doesn't encourage tactics and risk taking, as we become so scared about our general biting the dust (rather than biting our opponents!) that we hide them, or miss out on tactial moves out of fear that they'll be destroyed... not saying all who play a bunker don't use tactical moves - not that at all... it's just that it makes it easier for new vamp players to rely on solely that tactic, rather than expand their skills....

An aggressive vamp list gives more opportunities for opponents to fight our vamps head on, which seems to be a little more fun for them.... until they see what happens when you get them into combat that is!

Another weakness is combined charges... makes mincemeat out of our ranked troops, and I learned the hard way early on what happens when you tarpit with zombies and bring a heavy hitter in to help... they just attack zombies and amass HUGE Combat Res against both units!

A friend of mine asked if he could play my VC army a few weeks back. After the game he called me and said:" Those damn zombies! Terrible for suport even if you attack someone in the rear!"

What happend is that he played vs a Dwarf army, so he managed to raise some behind the dwarfline, and for some reason he wanted them into combat to help out a unit of Black Knights, instead of just stay there so the longbeards would mabey flee into them. The Dwarf Player couldn't be more happier to let the Vanhel's Danse Macabre trough. Those Longbeards hacked and smashed those zombies down like warm butter. First fight where a draw due to the S6 attack from the Knights, and he lost the rest of hes knights the next round.

Anyhows, where thinking about making a unit of zombies with 15-20 models wide and a battlestandard that gives them regenration just for the laugh. Deploy something around 120 of them just to see the face of the guy i'm playing. (The:" Are you serious?!? " Look in hes eyes.)

Alas, a character cannot join zombies.... but that would indeed be pretty funny!
