I own the Dwarf Army book and have read it and looked at the map. I was wondering where do people base their Dwarfs?
do you use an established strong hold? did you make your own? or do you even use a strong hold?
mostly I'm wondering cause I want to know what other people have done. I have ideas for my own but it helps to know what others have done.... and so as to not copy someone.

My Dwarf throng is based at the Dancing Dragon Inn in the Empire on the Border of Stirland and the Moot.

My slayers though call Karak Kadrin home now.

My Dwarves are mainly from the mighty hold of Karaz-a-Karak. Though, when I get a bigger army I might change it up a bit.

I like my dwarfs to come from Barak Varr the seaport. so they have a touch of pirate/sailor about them. and long drong slayer and his pirates fit right in

My dwarves come from Valhala or how ever u spell it. (dwarf heaven)
I represented this by making all their eyes pure white (no pupils) to make them look heavenly :D
I really should post some pictures.

Cool, quit a range of places.
is the Dancing Dragon Inn a real location in the Empire or one you created?

Slayers Keep, that's this place right?

http://img.war-europe.com/syndic_img//atlas/fr/KadrinValley01.jpg

Everpeak, that's the main Strong Hold where the Dwarf King lives right?

Dwarf Sea Fortress, I thought about it but I'm not much or a pirate fan. though Long Dong Slayer and his group arn't bad.

Valhalla (Scandinavian), Valholl (Icelandic) Cool, I didn't know that. the only info about Dwarf Heaven I found was about "The great tunnel into peaceful deep".

Cool, Karak Thorinkin isn't shown in the book, are there more Strong holds that aren't listed?

This is the only question I can answer as the others aren't my creations. Yes High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer lives in Karaz-A-Karak, otherwise known to you tall folk as Everpeak.

Karak Thorinkin is one I made up

If you go to Bugmans Brewery they have an extensive fluff section which lists and maps out all of the forum members Dwarven holds, the Black Library novels give you a few more as well
