I've been looking at my small assortment of Slayers and thinking it might be fun to fill them out a little bit.

I currently have the following:
48 Slayers (4 X BfSP Dragon Slayers have been worked into these models as regular Slayers)
-These Slayers have been broken into two units of 24 with Full Command
1 Dragon Slayer
1 Daemon Slayer
1 Goblin Hewer

With all that said, I have a few questions:

1. Does anyone know where I can find some DoomSeekers?

2. How big is big enough for a regiment of "Long Drong's Slayer Pirates"? I plan to pick up the starter box and two blisters after next payday. This will ammount to 18 models. Should I consider making the regiment just a little bigger or should 18 be about right?

3. Does anyone know where I can find Slayers cheap? I picked up a lot of 25 the other day on ebay for about $50, but I figure that was kind of a fluke thing. If anyone knows where I can pick them up at a reasonable price in bulk, that would be appreciated.

4. Does anyone know where I can find Conversion articles for Slayers?

Doomseekers are hard to find. It might be easier to convert Slayers with two hand weapons. Cut off the weapons and attach a piece of thin chain two the wrists and axe heads (should be double sided axe heads). You should find thin chains in craft stores in the jewelry making section.

I personally field Long Drong's Pirate Slayers in unit from 10-13 models and in one long line of shooty death.

That will be tough. I got most of mine years ago in a trade from a guy who worked for GW and he paid something like 4 cents a gram for the metal models at that time.

We are working on some at the New Slayer Brotherhood and for The Doom Seeker webzine but they haven't been submitted yet. I got to start yelling at the writers again. :D

I've noticed that about DoomSeekers. I've been watching ebay for a little while now and havent seen anything. I've been looking at different models to try to decide which models are best suited for conversion.

I'll be looking forward to seeing future articles. I bookmarked the Slayer Brotherhood and have been looking around for a few days now. There just isnt too much for conversions there yet.

I have about 1500pts of a Slayer Army I bought last year on a mad whim. Haven't done anything with them yet though ...

@ Randroid,

What all did you get for your Slayer army?

On the DoomSeeker note. I just got my hands on two of them off of ebay ($38 with S&H) :D

I have 45+ Slayers with command, 12 Long Drong Slayer Pirates, 3 (in need of repair) Doom seekers, the Goblin Hewer, and some Slayer Characters.

I have a couple Ideas/suggestions.

Who's going to be your general?
this guy might be cool, even if you just used hims as a General rather then himself.

Image
(He's the Dwarf Slayer King of Karak Kadrin, Ungrim Ironfist)

as for Doomseekers, if your looking for more, what about this guy....

Image
(he's Garagrim Ironfist, he's 18$ a model and has the chains built into the model.)

I actually plan to pick up the two models you have pictured in your first post.

Youre right, the Slayer in the Mordheim range does look kind of interesting. He kind of reminds me of the old Slayer models I've been seeing (The ones carrying swords, flails, and maces). Some of the other models look interesting as well, I might have to look into that little set!

There are some slayer-like modes made by other companies. AoW I think has a cool one if memory serves.

I saw this Dwarf Musician on Reaper.
http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/dwarf/latest/14534#detail/14534_w_1
it's basically a Slayer with Bagpipes.... and a bit of extra clothes.

and this guy would be interesting in a Slayer army, or with a little work as a Standard bearer.

I actually own Grimgor Ironfist, I found it a bit hard to base him cause of the dead ork he stands on.and his arms might need a bit of filing to fit properly. he basically comes in four pieces not including the base. body/head,both arms/axes and the ork corps.

I have both Ungrim and Garagrim, and they never hit the field. I use a big haired Slayer Hero model as my General.
