Check out this analysis by Mark at http://msehammer.blogspot.com
(reciprocal link on msehammer)

It lists the effectiveness of certain weapon choices for an Ogre Bruiser against a Warriors of Chaos Exalted Hero

Surprisingly, the cheapest magic weapon availabe, the sword of might comes out on top !

Here's another analysis that Mark performed for a Tyrant with Tenderiser against a Chaos Lord.

Good stuff Mark, thanks for sharing.

Hi Sigmar,

I still have to answer the question, why the Great Weapon came bottom?

Is it because of the always strikes last?
Or is +1 Strength just as good as +2 Strength (both gave 2+ to wound)?

Mark

I guess, sometimes great weapons can be overkill because you don't need the extra strength against low toughness enemies. Also, the always strikes last is something of a set back, which is dependent on your unit's ability to soak up punishment.

Great weapons are always best deployed with highly armoured units.
