In the VC army book, it says that Konrad has 2 weapons, described as the sword of Waldenhof and a hand weapon. it says that Konrad may use the sword of waldenhof and still benefit from his additional hand weapon. My question is, can that additional hand weapon be a magic sword from the magic items section. Thanks for any help.

Hey Alpine

My response would be "no" because there is no magical weapons upgrade options like there is for Count Manfred let's say. The fluff also would make it seems like he wouldn't care or be sane enough to care about such things. that goof

In my opinion...

No, the additional hand weapon is a mundane weapon that just gives 1 extra mundane atack.

The answer is no. Usually, special characters cannot take anymore equipment then what is listed for them. That is unless it states otherwise.

Also, you can never benefit from two magic weapons' abilities.

Actually Sigmar, I'd say he gets 1 additional magic weapon attack, but that yes, the additional handweapon is mundane. Thus:

If his magic weapon is destroyed, he'll have the mundane one.

Additional Hand Weapon states it gives one bonus attack, not one mundane bonus attack.

It doesn't seem right ot me. He takes another hand weapon but it becomes a magical attack ? I would expect the default to be an additional mundane attack.

Well, the logic would be that the magical attacks are just bolstered by 1, but thats not a very logical explination.

I'll try to put something more coherent later on.

" Any model wounded by the sword of waldrenhof loses 2 wounds instead of 1. Konrad may use the sword of Waldenhof and still benefit from his additional hand weapon "

To me, that sounds like he is holding a magic weapon and a mundain.
I don't think many characters out there use 1 magic weapon and 1 standard weapon.

I guess they just trying to clear it up if any arguements arise.

Unfortunatly not. When it says "Vampires are Level 1 Wizards" under the Vampire special rule, they are referring to the generic vampire hero you can select as one of your characters.

All of the characters are already priced out and have their own special entries.

Konrad is too crazy and blood thirsty to care about stupid magics. Thats why he has Necromancers with him.

Speaking of Konrad, the Sword of Waldenhof says "Any model wounded by the sword of Waldenhof (after saves, etc.) loses two wounds instead of one." Meanwhile, he benefits from the red fury special ability which says "For each unsaved wound the Vampire causes it gets to immediately make an additional attack". So...if I do one unsaved wound to a model, it becomes two...does that mean I get one additional attack or two? I am thinking only one extra attack, if only because that extra wound is coming from the sword and not the vampire. But really I have no idea, and I don't want to con myself out of a bunch of extra attacks.

Hello thefreeman, and welcome to the forums,

It's always nice to have a little....fresh blood....around the Vampire Boards.

As to your question: I did a little research. According to the Vampire Counts FAQ/Errata currently posted on GW's US website, they effects do stack. So yes, Konrad can combine the Sword of Waledenhof's ability with Red Fury.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
