8) Wow that is some nice stuff. Good to see you back and posting pics again. Can't wait to see the Stegadon when completed. What made you decide to convert the terradons like that? Are they getting set to leap into the air with the wings bent that way?

Kroak is breathtaking!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Stegadon finished. I built the first of my 4 Stegadons yesterday, so I find it really nice to see a WIP pic of one. Gives me some ideas.

I like what you've done with the Terradons. Is there a chance you could walk us through how you posed your models like that? I have enough models to make two units of 5 Terradon riders, I might want to do something like that with one of them.

Nice skinks, I really like the lighter blue/spots on the head fin.

Wow, excellent painting.

My favourites are the skink terradon rider and the Stegadon. It's a great alternative colour scheme, not one I would have had the imagination to go for but I prefer it over the GW versions. I'm looking forward to seeing that finished.

Would you mind if I added some of these pics to the battlereporter blog slide show ?

PS. Welcome back K :)

And me and my friend Andy attended the GW double tournament we playced somewhere in the middle.

He loves trolls So the forces we took were Lizardmen and Chaos, weird combination i know but he took trolls and dragon ogres so the one warrior the army had we converted.

Anyway these are the steps i took to make our (mine now) display board.

The base of the display board was a sheet of MDF and a sheet of corkfoam Taken from notice display board. The main basing would be like a Aztec pavement. So i got 3 packs of Willis york plastic card.

I cut the corkfoam so that the plastic card would fit exactly.I then taped
the plasticard to the corkboard and placed upon it our minis to see how it would look. Once happy with position we removed the mini and replaced ti with a empty base stuck with blue tag.

Then I spayed the hole thing black. removed the bases reveling the insprayed areas so i knew where i would cut the plastic card.
I quickly numbered the tiles and then removed them from the board.
After some painful hours all the unsprayed areas on the plastic card was cut out.

After that I glued back all the plasticard sheets on the corkfoam, next day when it dryed i cut out the squares from the coak foam and sealed the gaps between the plastic card you can see the result in the following picture.
Image

The diorama is ment to capture the scene were the lizardmen forces enter a portal from lustria and come out in the old world where the trolls are waiting for them.
To emphasise on the diffrence of the 2 areas (lustria and old world) I decided to make the lustrian portal under water. So i cut of that corner of the corcboard to give it depth.
Then I glued the MDF beneth the corkfoam. Sprayed plack again and began painting.
Charidon granite >drybrush khemri brown>dryb. Iranian sand.>>dryb. dark sand (last two are vallejo) then some pigmens. this realy took no time at all.
At the same time i am working at the portal.

THen I moved on to the "lake" I tinded the steps on that side blue, painted the sea floor and stuck some vegetation. I then sealed the area up and dropped a fiew mm of still water. I took forever. I then started using Clear Resing took have the drying time and layered in larger amounts.

Image

after the first layer I added some fish and a swimming skink!

When the last layer was a soid as jelly i pressed down some flock and leaf's that i had painted. Last touch was some watered down gloss varnish to make some of the flock look wet.

Image

Finaly With some epoxy gluea and a toothpick i quickly made some waves created by the skink aroud the skink.

The final Product.
