A poll to answer dims question about exactly what people think is a fair price for an expertly painted miniature.

What multiple of the miniatures original cost price would would be prepared to pay ?

(eg. 3x cost price for a mini costing $10 means you'd be prepared to pay $30 for the painted miniature - which includes the cost of the miniature).

I think it also depends on the actual miniature and obviously the way it is painted. A individual painter such as dims and others who may sell mini's on the side, may ask a higher price than say a company such as Midgard. The individual will put more into the mini so it is probably worth more where as something from Midgard and those Hong Kong sites are done on an asembly line, so although nice they might not be worth as much.

well dims, the consensus appears to be about 3x the cost of the miniature (including the cost of the miniature).

Personally, given the quality of your painting I think people would pay more. The best way to find out of course is to get some painted minis onto eBay. Let me know if you need some help advertising their presence, I'm happy to help out our valued forum members.

Thread removed form "sticky" status.

thanks for the info, and to all voters and posters too. I'll be taking this and more into consideration, and am happy to announce I have decided to really, REALLY get into this commission work business.

thnx!
