| Post subject: | Ogre butcher conversions |
So I'm building an ogre army but don't particularly want to spend the massive amount of money it would take to buy the heros I want (a tyrant and 3 butchers). Any suggestions on easy conversions to do that would make regular ogre models look the part? |

Easy enough to convert from plastic bulls with some extras and green stuff. If you struggle let me know and ill do them for you For my 2 I bought one full butcher then just got the second as a body and used the alternate parts from the 1st Made the boom stick (can't remember the actual magic item name) using I piece of sprue for the stock, plastic tubes for twin barrels and the top of the lamp from the mordhiem/militia sprues. ![]()
When doing your gore to show the blood magic he is using, mix in a little sand and static grass to your paint on the palette to make it look like gristle and hairs. Don't show too well in those bad pics, will get some clearer ones at the weekend. Hope that helps a little |

I love the wood grain on the rifle barrel, and the rust effect on his boots! |

Wood grain was based in bestial brown, then the grain was done with graveyard earth, then highlight the grain with 50/50 GY earth/bleached bone and final highlights with pure BB. Metal was easy, base in boltgun metal, slosh chestnut ink on top and then do your boltgun/chainmail/mithryl highlights as normal but leave patches of rust showing. I do a more in depth rust effect of the weapons in the army
another poor pic, but roughly shows the other type you can do. Apoc |
