Has anyone ever created a Chaos Dwarf custom? Maybe a Chaos Dwarf Steam Tank? Chaos Dwarf Organ Gun? How about a Chaos Dwarf Doom Wheel? Any other ideas?

I came up with rules for a Chaos Dwarf War Machine that flung Hobgoblin piloted gliders into the enemy, but never built it.

Sounds kind of like a Doom Diver. Do you still have the rules for it?

Why, yes I do.

--------

Hashut’s Doom Launcher

Alexandr Thimovich is a Chaos Dwarf Engineer who was assigned to setup Hell Cannons during the Storm of Chaos. He was never fond of the Demonically possessed war machine, preferring machine that were simpler and could be repaired on the field quickly if something did go wrong. While serving as an aide to the army watched from a distance machines other armies were bringing to the field of battle. The things he saw made more adamant in his thinking. He thought of a war machine that was capable of reducing ranks of warriors to a bloody mess and not relying on Demonic power to do so. When his tour of duty ended he requested to go back to Zharr Naggrund to work on a new machine. The request was granted.

When getting back to his workshop to see if he could make something better. He started drawing his plans. The idea was based on simple principles of the easily maintained Bolt Throwers that the Chaos Dwarfs allowed the Hobgoblins to use, just bigger. He decided instead of a large bolt he wanted something that could be controlled on it’s way to the target, making it more accurate. He made a glider but since the cockpit was too small for a Chaos Dwarf, and they were too valuable he decided to use Sneaky Gits because they were expendable. He was able to get plenty of hobgoblins to volunteer because even with the risk a certain death the desire to fly was even stronger.

The glider has spinning blades on the forward edge of the wing. It was been designed to cut through ranks of armored troops without losing forward energy.

The Sneaky Gits were given a crash course on flying the gliders and he did some testing against a band of Orcs that were spotted close to the facility. When his supervisors saw the capability of the machine it was decided to put it into production and trade it and trained crews to other armies with the goods they needed.

Hashut’s Doom Launcher
M WS BS S T W I A Ld
Alexandr Thimovich 3 4 5 4 4 2 2 2 9
Chaos Dwarf Crew 3 3 3 3 4 1 2 1 9
Sneaky Gits 4 3 3 3 3 1 4 1 6
Doom Launcher - - - 4 7 3 - - -

Points: 190
Unit: Consists of Alexandr Thimovich, 2 Chaos Dwarf Crew and Innumerous Sneaky Git Volunteers
Equipment: Alexandr Thimovich wears Chaos Dwarf Armor (4+ Armor Save) and carries a Spanner (counts as two handed weapon), Crew has Heavy Armor (5+ AS) and Spanners (counts as two handed weapon), and Sneaky Gits carry 2 hand weapons.

Special Rules
Engineer: Alexandr is a Chaos Dwarf Engineer and will not abandon his beloved creation. If he is alive he and the crew are immune to psychology except they are also stubborn.
Sneaky Gits: There are many Sneaky Git volunteers to fly the gliders, if the war machine if charged the hobgoblins will help to defend the machine. After lining up the Chaos dwarfs with the chargers fill the rest of the front line with Sneaky Gits, up to a max five (5) and for combat resolution always count as having one rank behind them. All Sneaky Gits attacks are counted as poisoned.
Doom Launcher: This is a war machine, when it fires the target must be within range, have line of sight and roll to hit as normal (Using Alexandr’s BS if he is still alive). If it hits the spinning blades cause a variable amount of hits depending on how many rank the target unit has. Roll a D6 for each rank of the unit, if hit in the flank it the amount of models in the largest rank. Example if you hit a unit in the front with 4 ranks you roll 4d6 for the amount of hits. If hitting a unit in the flank that is 6 wide you roll 6D6. Firing as a single model or skirmishers it only causes D6 hits.
The Doom Launcher suffers from loss of crew like a 2 man bolt thrower. Hobgoblins cannot crew the Doom Launcher, they are too busy fighting on who goes up next.
Hits from Shooting: Randomize, 1 Hits Sneaky Git, (Ignore there are too many to kill) 3-5 Hits Machine, 6 Hits Chaos Dwarf, Alexandr can only be hit if there are no Chaos Dwarf Crew remaining.
Dogs Of War: Can be used in a Chaos Dwarf Army as a Rare Choice, Can also be used in Dogs of War, Ogre Kingdoms, Beast of Chaos and Warriors of Chaos but counts as Rare and Hero choice
Doom Launcher: Range: 48”, Strength: 4, Save Modifier: -2
Move: as Chaos Dwarf Crew

------

Yes I know I'm nuts. The pdf attached give the rules to play this unit.

I was in a NO DAEMONS mood when I created it. I don't like Daemonic War Machines unless there is a risk that they will attack their own troops.

Its a pretty neat unit. I think I'll have to try it out one of these days just for laughs.

I've made a few characters and units. In the next issue of The Doom Seeker there is going to be an article about making your own Special Character.

Some I have made include:
Halfling Knights
Halfling Dawg Riders
Halfling Chef (Wizard)
Halfling Bard (Warrior Priest)

Vampire Special Character Lord Gillas de Raitz the Enslaver. It was highest pointed unit I ever created but there was 2 characters a magical throne and bodyguard in that unit.

I even created a army list for the Pirates of Sartosa. I included in that list.
Pirate Queen Kera Foehunter (Kera hangs out at a few forums and I made the Pirate list for her birthday.)
Pirate Princess of Sartosa
Ketnia Garzak and the Pirate Wenches (Think Female Slayer Pirates)
