I'd like to introduce a Hammerer of the month award for the most valued forum poster of the previous month.

When I say valued, you can use your own judgement but that might include the person who is one or more of the following:-

the most helpful with rules
the most insightful in tactics
the funniest
the friendliest
the most active

or anything else you think makes them valuable in our community.

The monthly winner will get

1) +3 reputation (previously karma)
2) a special "hammerer of the month logo" as their avatar
3) a "hammerer of the month" rank
(a special rank that only one person can hold at any one time)

The winner gets the award for the duration of the following month.

Everyone can nominate one other person. The person most nominated becomes the Hammerer of the month.

note: the winner cannot be nominated for the award in the following month.

Hammerer's of the month award winners

2009
Sep - Jacen Bell
Aug - BilboBaggins
July - STEAM
June - rockgollem
May - Guardian_A
Apr - Konrad
Mar - Son of Khaine
Feb - Konrad
Jan - Guardian

2008
Dec - Brett
Nov - Dims
Oct - Luckless

Votes so far:-

-------------------------------------------
thepowner238 - votes for STEAM

Ohh, this one is tough. Their are tons of great members here. I'm going to have to go with STEAM. A great guy overall, we are pretty good pals, and his english has improved tons since the last time he was the Hammerer.

-------------------------------------------
Guardian_A votes - for evilcartoonist

I vote, evilcartoonist. While he may not be the most active member, he has provided us with pictures of some truly amazing works of art this last month. Two of them come instantly to mind, the first being the cape he sculpted with green stuff, and the second was the breathtaking Empire Galley.

-------------------------------------------
BilboBaggins - votes - for Sever14

Sever14 for annoying me in the Arcade.

-------------------------------------------
Son Of Khaine - votes for BilboBaggins

Bilbo for spanking me in my own twenty questions thread.

-------------------------------------------
Waldo - votes for Guardian

I vote guardian. He was the guy who welcomed me to this site this month, and keeps things cool. Plus im liken the look of the progressive ogres of his.

(above copied in from previous thread so new announcement can be seen on portal page)

My vote would go to Steam. Although it was a close call between Steam and Guardian for me. Steam has been very supportive of my WoC army posts and seems to go out of his way to do the same for a lot of posters on here :)

Folks, we have a dead heat with 3 members leading the race.

I think this calls for a 3 way fight-off in the Gladiatorial Pit of Death. Which we will do here...

Vote Count
--------------
STEAM - II
BilboBaggins - II
Guardian - II
evilcartoonist - I
Sever14 - I
Powner - I
Sok - I

Steam, Bilbo and Guardian. You are all entering the Hammerer of the month Pit of Death.

You can fight with rock, paper or scissors. Please send me a private message with your choice of weapon and I will post the results here. We'll keep doing it until we have a winner - given the deadly weaponry being used, I don't suspect that will take long ! ;)

The 3 contestants stand facing one another, eyes darting from one to the other. Each fighter wondering who will strike the first blow and who it will be against.

The crowd waits, there is silence....

In a split second the gladiators draw their weapons and bear down on one another...

Rock...

Rock

and

Rock !

This round was a draw, no fighter got the mastery.

Round 2 !

(Guardian, Bilbo, STEAM - please send me your next choice of weapon)
