Congrats on the win, and thats a nice looking list - the 20 Plague Monks and 10 Censor bearers in particular would be quite nasty. No Jezzails, Tunnellers or Lightning Cannon - makes it a bit different from what I have come across before

Who did you come up against, can you give us a little summary

Sure:

Lemme first expplain the tourney scenario's:

Night Fight:
At the beginning of first players turn, he rolls a scatter dice. Multiplied by 3, that's tha maximum range of lien of sight for that turn (for BOTH players). Misfire indicates full moon, so full sight. Starting from turn 2, a D6 roll of 5+ indicates Night is over (and every turn thereafter on 4+, 3+ and so on).

Heavy Rain:
At beginning of first players first turn, he rolls a D6. On a 6 Heavy Rain is over. On subsequent turns that becomes 5+, 4+ etc. While Heavy Rain is in effect, ALL movement is halved.

round one - scenario: Night Fight
Opponent: Dark Elves
This player deployen hardly anything scary, besides those halbedier guys, and his magic heavy mages (a lv4 and 2 level 2's), so it was easy enough to stay out of CC for a long while, and shoot him up with crackling Warplightning. Night Fight was only in effect the first turn, so no hindrances there. All in all a good game, but was never really afraid.
Result: about 1300 pts difference - Crushing Victory - 17 VP's

round two - scenario: Heavy Rain
Opponent: Lizardmen
This player is a god friend and one I know is also a very, VERY good player. Two units of saurus warriors, a unit Cold One riders, and two Kroxigors in a unit of skins showed the sheer CC-minded game he wanted. Too bad for him that the scenario lasted for a good three rounds, making sure we would not meet in CC until round 4, giving me ample time to soften his units up with magic and shooting. In the end I managed to avoid his big units all toghether (although he took all my weapon teams out in a well times charge), being able to save a bulkload of points. He is still p'ssed about the scenario rules though, and true: he WOULD have been able to charge me in turn 2, and then it would have been a whole different result!
Result: about 350 points diference - Minor Victory - 5 VP's

round three - scenario: P{itched Battle
Opponent: High Elves
Well, what can I say? With this magic heavy list, with soo many magic missiles and shooting, what can a mere Elf do? He only brought a single level 4 mage, so I really outmagiced him. Nothing realy scary again: two unit swordmasters, a unit Seaguard, two units Silverhelms, a Lion Chariot. His two Bolt throwers were probably the most scary, but thanks to my bell they got destroyed in turn 3. All the rest never got a chance to charge me, cause they got shot up really good - which I regretted, 'cuase I wanted to see my stormvermin into action. His chariot managed to pull off a charge aginst them, killed a few, but due to my high CR (+7 !!!) he lost and failed his test.
HE asked me what I would have done in his stead, and frankly: I just think there was not so much to do. This was a really bad pairing for him.
Result: about 1700 difference - Crushing Victory - 17 VP's

Painting Points: 16 out of 20 (I aways miss the points for conversions - don't have any)

There were a good few Vampire armies, and Dwarven Gunlines, and those would have been nasty to come up against, I hold grudges for both of them ;) but luckily I never did.

Things I'm gonna change:
- I'll probably change the BSB banner into Banner of the Swarm. A lot cheaper, and I found out that the Fear effect is only usefull in a few single circumstances. Immune to Psych is a hot effect at tourneys, so the banner is pretty useless too. Better to have and extra +1 CR then, and save 55 points.
- probably gonna ditch the Banner of Burning Hatred too. The Hatred rule is great, but most of the times either the Monks never enter CC, or when they do it's bend or break, and then hatred will hardly give an edge. But it's a cheap banner so who cares?

But let's see what the next edition brings...

Man, the Lizzy player must have been P!$$ED!! one of my friends plays them, and if they don't get into combat, he throws a fit!! (That's why he hates my wood elves! Lol) Anyway, grats on the win, good show, and don't be so sorry about your painting score, I would have gotten a 2.......... :(
